Prada B.Y.O. Bags

18 June, 2010

Being eco-friendly is quickly becoming the “in” thing to do.  Even the markets here in Hong Kong are getting in on this trend by asking that you bring your own bags for shopping.  I have to admit that usually when I get the chance to pop into the supermarket it’s when I’m out and about and have some last minute free time.  Which typically means that I’m not prepared and I end up having to buy a plastic bag to tote my groceries home. In fact, I’m always  a little embarrassed making that $.50 bag purchase.

Prada just released a new collection of bags that are ultra chic and eco-frienly; B.Y.O. Bags. The light weight, spacious and destructured totes were designed to be rolled up and stored in your handbag then used to carry home groceries or anything that might require a plastic bag. I happen to think they work well as even just an everyday bag that you can throw your gym clothes, office work or whatever else you need to get through the day.

The line was created using the traditional Prada fabric and is actually embellished in some of their archive prints. Retailing at about $295USD makes this the least expensive bag available at Prada.

I personally think the Prada B.Y.O. Bags are an eco-friendly must-have for summer!
