Cubist Tattoo — Central tattoo and piercing shop offering nose piercings, navel piercings, eyebrow piercings and all types of ear piercings

Instead, reach out ahead of time and make an appointment with Jason Choi who’ll talk you through your piercing placement and process. While you’re there, there’s no harm in having a look at the tattoos on offer too — just don’t get them at the same time.

What To Know About Getting A Piercing In Hong Kong
- Do some research before getting pierced — about the type of piercing, how you will be pierced (say, with a piercing gun or needle plus the method of piercing!), and the expected pain and time it’ll take to heal.
- Eat something before you go. It keeps your blood sugar steady so you won’t get dizzy or faint. And try to get a good night of sleep.
- Have your piercer walk you through the way you’ll be pierced and show you how everything is sterilised. Discuss placement and the first jewellery you’ll be fitted with and when you can change the jewellery. It’s worth paying more for titanium or gold for your piercing.
- Expect a little pain! Better to be mentally prepared and ready than to be shocked.
- Aftercare is so important! It’s not worth neglecting a part of your body and having a piercing close up, or worse. A piercing is a wound of some sort and infections can leave real scars on your face and body! Make sure to consult your piercer about their recommended ways of cleaning and disinfecting your piercing, and how to take care of it. If you’re unsure, reach out to them after with any updates and don’t be afraid to ask “silly” questions — like their favourite products and methods!
- Don’t worry if you see a little bleeding or irritation, but keep an eye out for anything wrong, like a lot of discolouration, secretion of white, yellow to green fluid, heat, swelling and excessive pain.
