The Best Places To Get A Piercing In Hong Kong
A & G 色藝店 — Cantonese-speaking favourite for all ear piercings (lobe, upper lobe, tragus, conch, cartilage, helix, rook and more) plus lip, nose, septum, belly button piercings and more
If you’re pretty comfortable in Cantonese, or have a friend who doesn’t mind helping out, A&G 色藝店 is a local favourite that comes with plenty of positive reviews (you can have a scroll through here!). With over 25 years of experience, the piercers here are professional and confident, and will sterilise tools in front of you to ensure safety and cleanliness. Let them walk you through your piercing method and placement, as well as detailed aftercare.
Boom Tattoo and Piercing Studio — All full-body piercings including intimate areas like the nipples plus standard nose, septum, tongue and belly button piercings
For a more controversial piercing, look to Boom Studio! Touting itself as the only professional piercing studio in Hong Kong that does full-body piercing, you can really get anything pierced here including intimate areas like the genitals and nipples. The studio also does more traditional areas like the nose, septum, tongue and belly button.
Boom Tattoo and Piercing Studio, Room D, 2/F, City Mansion, 483-499 Jaffe Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, 9287 3128, boom-studio-tattoo-and-piercing-shop.business.site
Sara Pierced Me at Brilliance Bay — Team Sassy tried and tested piercer with a decade of experience in ear, nose and navel piercings
After a decade of piercing in Hong Kong, Sara has opened their very own piercing-only studio. They’ll walk you through what your piercing entails (where in the body it’ll enter and exit, how long it’ll take and how the jewellery will be fitted), placement, pain expectation, healing time, and jewellery selection. All piercings are done by hand with single-use needles. This writer had a fuss-free nose piercing done with Sara in 2019!
Sassy Tip: There are no walk-ins here, only by appointment! The website has lengthy aftercare tips, piercing information and FAQ sections so have a read on the site before and after your piercing. And if you still have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact the studio on WhatsApp.
Cubist Tattoo — Central tattoo and piercing shop offering nose, septum, eyebrow, lip, naval and all ear piercings
A little bit of a one-stop shop, don’t head to this Lan Kwai Fong-located studio after a night out (alcohol interferes with a piercing!). Instead, reach out ahead of time and make an appointment with Jason Choi who’ll talk you through placement and process. While you’re there, there’s no harm in having a look at the tattoos on offer too — just don’t get them at the same time.
ISABELLA — Hypoallergenic titanium nickel-free ear piercings for all ages
If you got your ears pierced as a child in Hong Kong, chances are you went to ISABELLA. With over 40 years of experience, this is perhaps the oldest shop on the list — and is a firm favourite for infants, kids and teens. But don’t write it off as an adult, this is a solid place to get your ear lobes pierced, no matter your age or gender. The shop uses medical-grade nickel-free hypoallergenic titanium and also offers 14K rose gold/white gold and nickel-free hypoallergenic gold.
ISABELLA, Shop 10, MTR Level, iSQUARE, 63 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong, 2563 2222
Karma Tattoo & Piercing — London-certified piercer offering all ear, nose and septum piercings plus micro dermal, lip and more
Led by a licensed tattoo artist and certified piercer, Karma in K11 Art Mall is all about beautiful piercings done to your liking. You can choose traditional ear placements (like the lobes, industrial and helix), a nose or septum piercing, or even opt for more unconventional piercings like micro dermal and lips. In terms of jewellery, titanium, solid gold and diamonds are all on offer here. Plus, this parlour even offers tooth gems!
Ku Kwai House (KK House) — Cantonese-speaking local favourite offering all ear piercings including helix, conch and earlobe plus lip, nose, tongue, belly button and other body piercings
This is another studio where you also need to either be confident in Cantonese or have a friend on hand. 古怪屋 Ku Kwai House — has been around since 1999 and is well-established and reputable, using single-use needles for all piercings and gloves to ensure safety and cleanliness.
MaBelle — First Hong Kong jewellers to provide certified professional ear piercing service

What To Know About Getting A Piercing In Hong Kong
- Do some research before getting pierced — about the type of piercing, how you will be pierced (say, with a piercing gun or needle plus the method of piercing!), and the expected pain and time it’ll take to heal.
- Eat something before you go. It keeps your blood sugar steady so you won’t get dizzy or faint. And try to get a good night of sleep.
- Have your piercer walk you through the way you’ll be pierced and show you how everything is sterilised. Discuss placement and the first jewellery you’ll be fitted with and when you can change the jewellery. It’s worth paying more for titanium or gold for your piercing.
- Expect a little pain! Better to be mentally prepared and ready than to be shocked.
- Aftercare is so important! It’s not worth neglecting a part of your body and having a piercing close up, or worse. A piercing is a wound of some sort and infections can leave real scars on your face and body! Make sure to consult your piercer about their recommended ways of cleaning and disinfecting your piercing, and how to take care of it. If you’re unsure, reach out to them after with any updates and don’t be afraid to ask “silly” questions — like their favourite products and methods!
- Don’t worry if you see a little bleeding or irritation, but keep an eye out for anything wrong, like a lot of discolouration, secretion of white, yellow to green fluid, heat, swelling and excessive pain.
