It’s that time again! Yup, it’s barely November but the holiday shopping fair/popup/bazaar madness has begun. But not to fear – we’ve done all the dirty work for you to make sure you don’t miss a beat! Many of these make for great days out, with food, music, activities, crafts and more to keep everyone happy – and Santa himself even making a few appearances. So grab your diaries, ‘cause here’s our guide to all the best festive fairs in Hong Kong!

(And psst: we know there are even more out there… so drop us a line in the comments if we missed one you love).

DISCOVERY BAY ZAKS PRE-CHRISTMAS SALE 
Beat the rush with this early-bird event, selling cute colourful Penny Scallan and Golly Gosh print accessories and homeware – all at discount prices! Then sneak in a lovely al fresco lunch and beachside stroll afterwards.

LAST MINUTE SHOPPING BAZAAR 2012
You’ll find everything under one roof: clothes, accessories, art, health and beauty products, gourmet food & wines, and so much more.

DB URBAN FARMERS’ MARKET
This fab open-air market has loads of locally grown produce, fresh yummy baked goods and so much more – all set against the backdrop of the seaside landscape of DB.

When: 11 November & 2 December, 10am-4pm
Where: North Plaza, Discovery Bay, Hong Kong
Sassy Tip: The DB Farmers’ Market is free to attend and can be easily reached by the Free Express Shuttle departing from DB Bus Terminus (every 30 minutes on the half hour and on the hour), or by external buses from Tung Chung or Sunny Bay MTR stations.

ISLAND EAST FARMERS’ MARKET
A one-stop shop for some of the best organic locally-produced goodies (co-founded by our very own That Girl Janice!), this market boasts live music, cooking demos and over 40 different stalls selling a variety of food, clothes, accessories and handcrafted goods… we’re addicted to the Tai Tai Pies!

When: Every Sunday, from 11 November until 16 December, 10am-5pm

CONRAD FAIR – The Gift & Lifestyle Fair
The first of three fab fairs showcasing gifts galore! You’re spoilt for choice with literally thousands of designer gifts (including The9thMuse, Pretty Dangerous and Pomme café). ‘Nuff said.

HONG KONG CRICKET CLUB CHRISTMAS FAIRS
The Hong Kong Cricket Club has two festive fairs – the first is a holiday bazaar that’s certain to tick a few gifts off the shopping list; the second is a Christmas Wine & Food Fair for members and their guests only.

When: 13 November, 10am-7pm; 15 November, 6.30-10pm

CHINESE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL FAIR

SHA TIN COLLEGE & JUNIOR SCHOOL FAIR

When: 17 November, 12-6pm

Note: There are free buses running there from Sha Tin MTR, Exit B, from 11.30am onwards!

CITY KIDS HKPPA ANNUAL CHRISTMAS FAIR
Expect a fun-filled afternoon complete with arts and crafts activities, a scrummy BBQ and fabulous bake sale, a raffle with loads of great prizes and even some carol singers and Santa himself to get you in the mood! Keep a look out for all your favourite shops, including Mirth and Ricebowl Republic, for some great gifting ideas.

CYBERPORT WEEKEND MARKETS
A fun-filled fair with over 60 booths, offering exotic handicrafts, organic food, clothes, handmade skincare and virtually everything else you can think of!  You can also get enjoyed with creative farming and up-cycling workshops, or kick back and enjoy a free movie on the outdoor cinema screen (you even get a free snack pack!).

When: November 17-18, December 22-26, January 19-20, February 23-24, March 16-17

FIS TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS FAIR – MARCHE DE NOEL
A traditional holiday fair with a certain je ne sais quoi.  More than just gifts and goodies, here you can find holiday décor and even Christmas trees and holiday hampers. 

When: 24 November, 10am-5pm
Where: 34 Price Road, Jardine’s Lookout Two, Lamma Island, Hong Kong

LAMMA FUN DAY
This is a fair with a difference as it helps raise funds for The Child Welfare Scheme, a charity that works with underprivileged children in Nepal to improve their lives through education, health and even legal issues such as preventing child trafficking. Expect loads of food stalls, music, games and loads of beachside fun.

When: 24 November

REPULSE BAY CHRISTMAS FAIR
A great day out and firm favourite amongst the city’s festive fairs, featuring over 50 stalls selling Christmas decorations, ladies accessories, paintings, handicrafts and other great gift ideas – plus a bouncy play area (alas, only for littlies!) and a live band.

When: 24 November

HONG KONG WINTERFEST
Every year, the Western tradition of Christmas and the Eastern love of festivals meet, mingle and make merry in Hong Kong. Buildings and streets sparkle, shop sales thrill, festive menus fill, and carol singers rejoice.

CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL FAMILY FUN FAIR
While the shopping’s good and there’s a ton to eat and drink, we love the fun hands-on activities at this fair…  And it’s not the run of mill stuff either. Think pony rides, a bungee run, sumo wrestling, and a rodeo bull!

JWA ANNUAL CHARITY BAZAAR 2012
The Jewish Women’s Association bazaar will be selling an assortment of branded clothing, bags, accessories, toys, homeware and other Christmas items – with all proceeds going to charity, plus food, activities and much more.

NIGHTFEST AT SOUTH ISLAND SCHOOL
This year, South Island School are holding a super glam Hollywood-themed winter fair. There will be fabulous market stalls, delicious food, super entertainment and more. Sounds like fun!

HULLET HOUSE CHRISTMAS MARKET
Hong Kong’s only traditional Christmas Market is back for its second year! Hullett House’s historical courtyard and garden will be transformed once again into a quintessential European Christmas Market, with a mouth-watering array of specially-selected sausages, smoked meats, cheese, teas, gingerbread, Christmas cakes, chocolate, jams, preserves – and even a sneaky tipple of mulled wine and eggnog too! There’ll also be Christmas cards, ornaments, books and other seasonal gifts, with carol singing and a special appearance from Santa and his reindeers – so there’s absolutely no excuse for not getting into the festive spirit!

GERMAN SWISS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL CHRISTMAS BAZAAR
German Swiss International School’s biggest annual fundraiser will have a host of home-baked goodies and traditional German Christmas food and decorations amongst the usual stalls of books, clothing and gifts.

ITALIAN WOMEN’S ASSOCIATION CHARITY BAZAAR
There are two main attractions here:  ‘Il Mercatino’, a bazaar of Italian products, and the ‘Le Grazie’ restaurant serving authentic Italian dishes prepared by the local Italian community. Tables can be booked, and a delicious meal enjoyed, at a minimal cost and with all proceeds supporting the Duchess of Kent hospital, a paediatric hospital specialized in orthopaedics, neurology and degenerative diseases.

ISLAND SCHOOL CHRISTMAS FAIR
Loads of stalls selling books, clothes and other gifts, a Food Hall dishing up homemade delicacies from countries around the world plus entertainment throughout the day.

CHUNG HOM KOM CHRISTMAS MARKET
There will be 11 vendors selling jewellery, accessories, clothes, toys, crafts and other Christmas gifts, plus the chance to sip on some mulled wine too!

HONG KONG COUNTRY CLUB CHRISTMAS FAIR
Another stalwart of the festive fair season, vendors will be selling jewellery, accessories, clothes, toys, crafts and other Christmas gifts. A jazz band will also be playing throughout the day to keep your festive spirits high!

AROXTA & HOME ESSENTIALS CHRISTMAS SHOPPING LOUNGE
Over 25 vendors to pick from – plus if you make a purchase on the day, you’ll also get to pick up a free mystery gift from their Secret Santa Bag too. There will also be fantastic lucky draws with 15 luxury prizes up for grabs.
