The possibilities are endless with the SLGP. Find out how you can make any professional role a job with a purpose.
Want to be a positive changemaker and work towards a better future? We know a Master’s course that can get you one step closer to the ‘green’ job of your dreams. Introducing the Master of Social Sciences in Sustainability Leadership & Governance or SLGP (formerly known as Corporate Environmental Governance), an interdisciplinary programme taught at The University of Hong Kong aiming to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to understand complex sustainability challenges and manage sustainability issues in their daily work.
Understanding and implementing sustainability principles and practices helps us protect our ecosystems and natural resources today for a better future tomorrow. This unique programme aims to empower its students to promote ethical cultures and responsible behaviour throughout organisations and in our communities. It also supports all functional roles and sectors to be more environmentally conscious and socially responsible.
Whether you’re a fresh grad, early or late into your career, or want to make a change into a sustainability-related job, such training will grant you agency to tackle overwhelming environmental challenges head on, and integrate sustainability into what you already know and love to do.
And in case you’re not exactly sure what a “green job” might entail, the programme promises to give more clarity around the term, providing training and demonstrating how a career path in sustainability will support all professionals to make every role a job with purpose.
Essentially, SLGP graduates combine their existing skill sets with sustainability and step into a wide variety of positions. Some have returned to their family businesses, while others enter into consulting sectors, each to share their valuable knowledge on the subject of sustainability. This same learning has been applied also to other industries, including finance, science, communications, marketing and so on. So why not join this growing network of change-makers?
