Phew, the year has just flown by! We’re approaching September already and that means it’s party season. There’s a whole load of arts and cultural events going on around town this month – how many of them can you get to?! Mark these dates down in your diary, girls!

HamletShakespeare’s Globe Hamlet
Performed by Shakespeare’s Globe, the Bard’s work is brought to life on the stage right here in Hongkers. This tragedy (which is peppered with some humour!) is a pared down experience with just 12 actors performing – they are a touring group, after all! This is definitely one to check out if you’re a fan of Shakespeare.

Dylan MoranDylan Moran – Off the Hook Live in Hong Kong
Have a laugh with Irish comic Dylan Moran, who’s bringing his stand-up show to the 852. This one is especially good for any fans of him in the television series Black Books and fans of playwright Oscar Wilde. As per usual, he’ll be sharing his unique take on love, politics, misery and the everyday absurdities of life!

Maroon 5Maroon 5 World Tour
Do you have the moooooooves like Jagger? Adam Levine certainly does, so fans of pop-rock Grammy-winning band Maroon 5 should make sure to catch them in concert at AsiaWorld-Expo. A little birdy told us tickets are sold out, but ask around and you may be able to find some!

Beef & Liberty x HushupBeef & Liberty x Hushup Rooftop Cinema
What’s better than chilling out on a trendy rooftop spot in HK? One of our fave burger joints Beef & Liberty has teamed up with Hushup Events for a rooftop cinema series this month. Check out Indiana JonesThe Breakfast Club and Napoleon Dynamite over a burger and popcorn. There’s your mid-week entertainment sorted!

HK Dart MastersHong Kong Dart Masters
If you’re into darts, check out the very first Hong Kong Dart Masters this month. Watch eight of the world’s top 12 darts players compete in knockout rounds and eventually the finals to snag a US$100,000 prize as well as bragging rights.

Quin Woodward PuQuin Woodward Pu’s launch of Settle Down
American author Quin Woodward Pu launches her fourth book, Settle Down, this month! Celebrate the release at ethos for a launch night that includes a book signing by the established author herself. There will also be cool photographs featured from breakout local photographer Will Thierbach. This is definitely one book Sassy Girls need to snap up!

Punchline Comedy ClubThe Punchline Comedy Club: Whose Line Is It Anyway?
Have a laugh and enjoy some improv comedy at Tamarind with the guys from Punchline Comedy Club. Yell out your suggestions (as they ask for them!) and the guys will perform fun, audience-driven sketches similar to the television show with Drew Carey from yesteryear. Starring Andy Smart, Stephen Frost, Steven Steen and Ian Coppinger.

Jokes From A Small IslandJokes From A Small Island
Head to Fringe Club if you’re in the mood for a bit of comedy. Three stand-up comics will present their material, including HK’s very own Nick Milnes. He’s been performing in the 852 for more than 10 years and shares his show “Jokes From A Small Island” with the audience on this occasion. See you there!

Secret Brunch ClubSecret Brunch Club
Yep, Hushup Events is bringing their Secret Brunch Club back this season! The premise is simple, buy your ticket, show up at a meeting spot and be prepared for your mind to be blown! You’ll get free-flow G.H. Mumm while a line-up of DJs spin tunes over brunch… sounds like the perfect way to spend the weekend!

Shop ‘til you drop at Lot 5. This special two-day sale offers pre-loved designer clothing that’s been donated to shoppers who are looking to bag an oh-so-stylish bargain. All proceeds from the sale will go directly to HandsOn Hong Kong, a charity whose aim is to meet pressing social needs in Hong Kong through volunteer services.
