Cathay International Chinese New Year Night Parade 2026

Hong Kong’s Lunar New Year is a true cultural spectacle, and leading the charge is the unmissable Cathay International Chinese New Year Night Parade. On the first evening of the Year of the Horse, Tsim Sha Tsui transforms into the city’s biggest outdoor party. A grand procession of 60 dazzling floats and international performers will weave through the streets, showering the massive crowds with energy and blessings. It’s the official, high-energy kickoff to the festive season, where the theme ‘Best Fortune. World Party’ comes to life.

This year’s float lineup is a mix of iconic favourites and exciting debut acts. Watch for Cathay’s anniversary float, featuring a classic aircraft soaring through time, and The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s magnificent trio of horses, nodding to the zodiac year. They’re joined by newcomers like McDonald’s Hong Kong with a delightfully nostalgic train float and Lam Tsuen’s glowing, mobile Wishing Tree. From Disney’s street party to a parade of trendy toy characters, each float is designed to wow.

The global flavour turns this parade into an international extravaganza. An group of 16 performing teams from across the globe — including first-time appearances from Italy, France, Egypt and beyond — will bring jaw-dropping acts. Expect a luminous giant horse from France, a towering dinosaur from Italy dancing with a traditional Chinese dragon, along with the mesmerising whirl of Egyptian Tannoura dancers. The international stars will join Hong Kong’s own champion dance crews and vibrant local troupes, creating a one-night-only cultural event.
