Rustival Music Festival 2026

Held on a remote, abandoned island that formerly served as a Vietnamese refugee detention centre, Rustival 2026 is a sanctuary for techno enthusiasts seeking an escape from civilisation. Now in its fifth year, this annual ‘open-air’ festival is powered by a formidable Funktion-One sound system consisting of eight tops and 12 subwoofers.

The event emphasises a complete disconnection from urban life, offering poor phone reception and a ‘leave no trace’ DIY camping ethos where privacy is found in the island’s vast landscape rather than traditional facilities.

The programming bridges the gap between high-energy techno and holistic communal living. While the 24-hour musical journey features regional heavyweights like Diskonnected (TW) and Hogun (KR), the experience is rounded out by diverse workshops including tea ceremonies, sound baths at dawn and nightfall art rituals.

Attendees should arrive prepared for a rustic environment — bringing cash for food and drinks.
