A new “Grab-And- Go” restro has popped up in the bustling district of Quarry Bay! Drawing inspiration from hawker food centres, HAWKR serves up a wide variety of regional dishes using fresh ingredients and original recipes to bring to you the most authentic flavours of Southeast Asia. From curries, soup noodles and healthy breakfasts to Vietnamese and Thai baguettes, not forgetting house-blend coffees, the options are simply unlimited. What’s more, we heard that no MSG or preservatives are used in any of the dishes prepared.

Happy Paradise

Beginning 12 August, Happy Paradise will feature its dining pop-up entitled, ‘Friends Forever.’ Worldwide chefs will join forces with executive chef John Javier and owner May Chow and create  late-night bites to eat that we can’t wait to try! First in the series is chef Taku Sekine of Dersou in Paris. He will prepare a six-course ‘Freestyle Izakaya,’ which is a take on modern French cuisine. Come September, “Friends Forever” will take place every Wednesday evening.

Mandarin Oriental is celebrating its 54th anniversary by offering an exciting benefit for all the residents of Hong Kong. Running until 30 September from 6pm to 10:30pm, Cafe Causette will be giving 25% off to guests with a 5 or a 4 in their Hong Kong identity cards. Cafe Causette serves a variety of delicacies including its signature Hainan Chicken Rice and Mandarin Classic Burger and Nasi Goreng, and for dessert, 1963 Mandarin Cheesecake and Cherry Clafoutis. We’re officially well into summer, and to celebrate the hot weather Limewood is launching a new menu by Chef Russell Doctrove. The unique dishes are inspired by South American cooking techniques, infused with Thai flavours. Featuring Soft Shell Crab Salad ($185), Fried Fish Tacos with Chipotle Mayo ($135), Smoky Coleslaw with Paprika Yoghurt ($75) and Smashed Potato Salad with Cumin and Dried Mango ($65).

If you’re a fan of Lebanese cuisine, you’re in for a treat! Zahrabel is launching a Summer Special, allowing guests to enjoy a complimentary lunch when you order four or more, and a complimentary sharing menu dinner when you book online for four or more diners. From Tuesday to Friday, lunch set menus are available from 12:00pm to 2:30pm, where you can choose between an Executive Set (under $200, inclusive of a Zahrabel Mezze Sampler, your choice of main dish,  dessert of the day and coffee or tea) or an Express Set ($140, inclusive of a Zahrabel Mezze Sampler, dessert of the day and coffee or tea). If you’re interested in dinner, the restaurant offers three sharing menus: the Setteh Menu (six dishes), the Thamaniah Menu (eight dishes), and the Ashra Menu (10 dishes).

Do you have a thing for Singaporean food? (Who doesn’t love the melting pot of Chinese, Malay, and Indian delicacies?) Hotel Icon’s restaurant The Market is having a “Love Affair with Singaporean Food” promotion from 11 to 24 September. Its newly appointed Singaporean Specialty Chef, Kelvin Lee, has sourced fresh ingredients from Singapore and prepared everything from Singaporean Chilli Crab to Penang Hokkien Mee (Prawn Noodle Soup) and Beef Rendang. These dishes will be offered from brunch through dinner, with free flow packages starting from $338.

After a long week, there’s nothing we need more than a boozy brunch. For $495, Lily and Bloom will have an All-American Brunch by Executive Chef Chris Grare and Head Mixologist John Nugent. The brunch starts off with an appetiser buffet, inclusive of healthy salads, made-to-order omelettes, a seafood bar, pastries, and more! It’ll then be followed by a selection of main dishes, with options of many classic brunch favourites such as Eggs Benedict, Croque Madame, or Brioche French Toast. Top it off with your choice of cocktails. If you’re a fan of bubbly, you might want to consider adding an extra $100 for free-flow Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Brut.
