Best Bars in Hong Kong: Where to Play Beer Pong

16 March, 2016

Chug, Chug, Chug, Chug

I wanna go to college for the rest of my life, sip Banker’s Club, and drink Miller Lite

Okay, (for some of us) long gone are the days of university where drinking games were a pre-night out staple, and if you refused to skull the last king during Ring of Fire you were automatically assigned ‘four fingers’ as penance. Even though we may not be as willing to down everything but the kitchen sink these days, we still love a good game of beer pong if the occasion should arise. And whenever somebody busts out those iconic red cups, it’s game on and suddenly we’re all beating our chests, chanting ‘down it‘ as another ping-pong ball splashes into a another cup of Tsing Tao. Sound familiar? It’s time to re-live your glory days with these top beer pong bars in Hong Kong…

Bars: Beer Pong: Billidart

A casual all-American style restaurant, Billidart serves a wide range of food and drink and a good dose of competitive spirit. From American pool to darts, their beer pong tables have been specially designed to fit the cups and the rules (elbows behind the table, ladies!).

When: Monday – Saturday, 4pm – late and Sunday from 7pm – late (each game is limited to 10 minutes of play time)
Where: 8/F, Kwan Chart Tower, 6 Tonnochy Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong

Obviously beer and burgers go hand in hand, so throw in a few games of beer pong and you’re having the best Thursday night of your life – it’s the new Friday, after all. Boomshack’s weekly beer pong nights reserve the centre tables for teams of up to five to battle it out in a bid for ultimate glory – loser has all the regret come Friday morning.

When: Every Thursday, 10pm – 12am (games only go for 10 minutes each, so make sure to throw fast!)
Where: Shop B, G/F, 8-12, Wo On Lane, Central, Hong Kong
How much: $150

Arena Bar

If you’re looking for a few cold ones after work, Arena Bar is to the go-to for live sport, darts, flip cup (oh yeah!) and of course, beer pong. Catch the game and kill time between the adverts with a couple of rounds of pong. Alternatively if you’re on a mad one, make friends with their award-winning cocktail mixologists and get those beer taps pouring – it’s go time.

When: Monday – Thursday, 5.30pm – 3am, Friday – Saturday, 5.30pm – 4.30am, Sunday, 6pm – 3am
Where: 1/F, 10 Knutsford Terrace, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong

Fierce in-house beer pong rules with quite possibly the coolest table on the block to back them, it’s time to show what you were made of at university. Build your beer-ymid and get a team together, this typical British pub is about to get mega nostalgic.

When: Monday – Sunday, 11am -3.30am
Where: 5/F, 54-62 Lockhart Road, The Broadway, Wan Chai, Hong Kong

Live sport, DJs on the decks and pool tables that’ll transform into a game of pong at the flick of tarpaulin. If you find yourself getting a little tired of dancing on the street to Livin’ On A Prayer (still a tune, though), then head to Scratch for games and a spot of beer chugging.

When: Monday – Sunday, 4pm – 3am
Where: 2/F, 89 Lockhart Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong

Joe’s Billiards & Bar

Props to Joe – he has got this whole post-work entertainment thing down to a tee. With live sport and a ton of pool tables, dart machines and beer pong tables, the competitive nature in you is sure to rear its ugly head – and that’s definitely okay, we’ll allow it. Don’t hesitate to give their old school air hockey machine a whirl too!

When: Monday – Sunday
Where: 5/F, Mong Kok City Centre, 80 Sai Yeung Cho Street, Kowloon, Hong Kong; 11-12/F, 1 Knutsford Terrace, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong; 2/F King’s Hotel, 303 Jaffe Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong

Who said that beer pong is strictly a night time event? Make a day of it and combine Archery and Laser Tag, Bubble Soccer, Darts and XBox with a few fresh brews! This ultimate party venue is entirely customisable to suite your vibe, with beer pong, flip cup and shisha on the cards for an all round awesome day out.
