Shi Fu Miz Festival - Spring 2019

Set on Cheung Chau island, Shi Fu Miz Festival is back for another year! The music and art project (created by the Hong Kong based creative agency: FuFu and music collective La Mamie’s from France) offers modern and original cultural activities, with a varied programme of everything from worldwide music to electronic music, combining live music, DJ sets and activities. When: Saturday, 4 May, 1pm to 12am; and Sunday, 5 May, 9am to 10pm

Urban Farm & Feast Market 2019

Join the hive at its Urban Farm & Feast Market for a day of fresh and local produce, chocolate making, cooking and urban farming workshops. Cheung Chau Bun Festival

Attending the Cheung Chau Bun Festival (a festival dedicated to the god, Pak Tai) is a rite of passage for any Hong Konger. Not only is it one of the city’s most unique festivals, but it also gives you an excuse to explore Cheung Chau. This gem of an island will burst with colour and life as the flurry of festivities sweeps through it this May, with everything from parades, costumes and lion dances taking place during the festival – not to mention the famed “bun scrambling competition”!

Sassy Tip: Ferries to and from Cheung Chau will be packed during the festival, so consider going early in the mornings or on weekdays.

Young Master Invitational Beer Festival 2019

Back for its second edition, the Young Master Invitational Beer Festival is bringing together over 20 different brewers from around the world. Le French May

The 2019 edition of Le French May promises to be jam packed with more than 120 exciting programmes across two months, showcasing artistic mastery in theatre, dance, music, and visual arts. Francophiles will be in heaven, but the festival is for anyone who wants to experience stimulating and awe-inspiring creativity

More information on the 2019 edition of Le French May can be found here, with everything happening from free performances and events, to artist collaborations and more. Of course, for many of us, a celebration of French culture needs to include its culinary splendour, so as part of this year’s Le French GourMay, over 100 participating restaurants will have special menus spotlighting the Loire Valley, and stores around town will showcase the finest ingredients and wines from the area.
