WEEKENDER: Win a trip to Bali, Get Dotty at Polkadot, Free Daiquiris at Soiree and More!

16 March, 2012

Got Sevens fever yet girls? Well, whether you have or you haven’t, there are still plenty of hot events around town to keep you busy until the big weekend; here’s our pick of the bunch!

Take Flight
Want to get away from it all? Well, the new Flight Centre superstore might be just the ticket! With two expat teams of expert leisure travel consultants, they’ll have you sorted out with the holiday of your dreams in no time – and rather than having long phone conversations, their new store means you can now do it all face-to-face. To celebrate their opening, they’re giving away a luxurious beach holiday for two to Bali, including flights, a four-night stay at The Samaya Bali, breakfast and airport transfers; all you need to do is drop by the store and fill out an entry form or print one from here. Good luck!

When: Competition ends 31 March
Where: Flight Centre, 49 Caine Road, Central, Hong Kong, 2830 2866

Drinks are on us!
We’ve always been big fans of Soiree (they won our 2011 Sassy Award for best girls night out) and the reasons to love them keep rolling in… this Tuesday, they’re dishing out free blueberry daiquiris for all Sassy girls! No catch, no small print, just one blueberry daiquiri to all girls that come in between 6-9pm and mention Sassy or show a print-out of this email. If you’re still feeling thirsty, don’t forget their fabulous Sensational Hour also runs every night except Sunday from 6-10pm, where their Soiree Sensation drinks cost just $50. Let your hair down girls!

When: 20 March, 6-9pm
Where: Soiree, G/F, 19 Elgin Street, Central, Hong Kong, 2857 2808
How much: Blueberry daiquiris free!

Pirouette perfection
The Hong Kong Ballet are back with another stunning production; this time, it’s a reworking of the Puccini opera Turandot by Australian choreographer Natalie Weir. Telling the story of the eponymous princess with a heart of ice, it’s a dazzling tale of power, lust and revenge set to Puccini’s original music. Black Swan, eat your heart out!

Where: Grand Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre
How much: $50-1000, www.urbtix.hk, 2111 5999

The luck of the Irish
St Patrick’s Day is headed your way on 17 March, so keep your eye out for your fair share of cheeky leprechauns! Come celebrate Ireland’s National Day at Volar and party til you find your very own pot of gold, with green jello shots and giveaways happening before 12.30am. Bottom’s up!

Where: Volar, Basement, 38-44 D’Aguilar Street, Central, Hong Kong
How much: Members free; non-members $300 (includes two drinks)

Go dotty
One of our favourite fashion boutiques Polkadot has just moved to Hollywood Road – and they’re having a Hollywood style opening party to celebrate! Come check out their latest spring arrivals, sip on some bubbly, chat to local designers and stylists and try your luck at winning some fab prizes too; one lucky girl will win a total style makeover with a new outfit worth $2000. Forget the red carpet, let’s make it a dotted one instead!

Where: 2/F, 29 Hollywood Road, Central, Hong Kong
How much: Free

P.S. Don’t forget – the Sevens are coming! We’ve got a round-up of all the hottest Sevens events around town, including the best food, parties, happy hours and… oh yeah… a bit of rugby too. See you there!
