My, my, what gorgeous weather we’re having in the 852 – we’ve been looking forward to the weekend since… well, last weekend! It’s the Dragon Boat festival this Saturday so head Southside for the super exciting races. Or shop for some new silks from Grana and don’t forget to pick up swim trunks from Māzŭ Swimwear and niin jewellery’s pop-up… just in time for Father’s Day! It’s all here in our Weekender…

Grana

Show off that silk!
Grana, one of our fave affordable clothing brands, is hosting a month-long pop-up shop at PMQ. To celebrate the launch of their Chinese Silk collection with 9 new styles and 14 new colours, there’s going to be a party this Friday with a catwalk show (featuring some of us from Sassy Hong Kong!). Head over for drinks, snacks, and music from Cliché Records. See you there!

When: The party starts at 7pm on Friday, 19 June and the pop-up shop runs until Sunday, 19 July.
Where: PMQ, 35 Aberdeen Street, Central, Hong Kong
How much: Free entry. See all Grana clothes and prices here.

Dragon BoatRow, row, row your boat
This one’s exciting: it’s Dragon Boat Festival this weekend, so some of us at Sassy HQ are heading over to soak in the sunshine and the atmosphere over at Stanley. Watch the teams race in their dragon boats throughout the day from the promenade at Southside. Shop and grab a bite from Hong Kong Markets Organisation’s Seaside Market, which will be set up at Stanley Plaza. See you there!

When: Saturday, 20 June
Where: Stanley Promenade, Stanley Main Street, Hong Kong
How much: Free entry

Mazu Swimwear pop-upLast Minute Shopping for Dad!
It’s Father’s Day this Sunday (check out our guide here!) so why not show your dad your appreciation by taking him out for a shopping spree at niin jewellery and Māzŭ Swimwear’s pop-up shop? It’s running until this Sunday, so there’s enough time to grab him some cool new trunks from the swimwear brand and treat yourself to a bit of bling from niin jewellery at the same time. After all, dads are our real life superheroes so it’s just as well we show ‘em a bit of love now and then!

When: The pop-up shop runs until Sunday, 21 June
Where: niin jewellery, Shop E, 200 Hollywood Road, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong (the entrance is on Pound Lane)
How much: Free entry

Premium Sofa Club 80s NightDisco, disco, disco
It’s 80s night over at Premium Sofa Club, so don your favourite brights and bootlegs for an evening of disco dancing, vogue-ing and more! Slip on your platform wedge heels and crimp your hair for an all-out blast. It’s BYOB as well, so hit up the supermarket or 7/11 before hand for a few bottles of vino or even mix your own B52s to really get in the mood – they’ll take care of the rest. Enjoy!

When: Saturday, 20 June, midnight ‘til late
Where: Premium Sofa Club, Basement, Fui Nam Building, 212-216 Wing Lok Street, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong
How much: $100 at the door

Euro BrunchBrunch bunch
We love a good brunch here at Sassy HQ, so it’s only fitting we share news of The Tavern’s Euro Brunch, which starts this weekend and continues every Saturday and Sunday throughout summer. Think huevos rancheros, Catalan bikinis and of course, drinks galore (anyone for sangria?). ChurrosBarcelona will also be on hand offering up sweet treats or you could indulge in a boozy ice-lolly from Nice Pops. Let the summer brunches begin!

When: Starting this Saturday, 20 June and continuing on every weekend throughout summer.
Where: The Tavern, 16A Elgin Street, Soho, Hong Kong
How much: The free-flow sangria package stars from $250.
