ONE OF HONG KONG’S BEST SPAS LAUNCHES EXCLUSIVE NEW SKINCARE PRODUCTS

Smooth skin… a clear complexion… these simple attributes are hard to achieve in our busy, polluted city! I was sick of the smog and desperately in need of de-clogging my pores and giving my rather drained-looking face a well-needed lift after a hectic couple of weeks. Enter the fabulous Sense of Touch, who saved the day when they invited me to try their new line of ‘antibody’ skincare products from Japan in their new ‘Hydra Age Defence Facial‘.

The Salon

I headed over to the flagship Lan Kwai Fong branch of Sense of Touch (one of six salons they have in Hong Kong) which was easy to find opposite the Hard Rock Cafe. After walking through the sticky streets of LKF, stepping into Sense of Touch felt like a breath of fresh air. I was greeted by the warm and welcoming receptionist with a glass of water and filled in a short questionnaire in the cool, air-conditioned entrance area. Within minutes I was introduce to my therapist and led up the staircase to the treatment room.

Unusually, Sense of Touch in Lan Kwai Fong is spread across five floors, so it’s a bit of a hike if your treatment room is on one of the top floors. What can you expect though in such a densely packed, convenient location?! It also means you don’t get as much noise on the upper floors, so you really feel like you’re tucked away from the chaos outside. The treatment room is on the smaller side, but I found it quite cosy and comfortable… after all, you only need the bed space to enjoy a soothing beauty treatment!Adsorb Series Image_m

The Treatment

My therapist carefully explained to me what she would be doing for the Hydra Age Defence Facial before I lay down on the bed. I usually get quite scared about an sort of ‘extraction’ in a facial, but the whole treatment was painless and instead felt extremely soothing as various products were applied to my face. Rehydrater La Peau is a product from Zeal Cosmetics, a high quality skincare brand from Japan, with a focus on scientific formulas that produce results. Their products use a revolutionary antibody biotechnology to revitalise skin in a natural way with active ingredients, promising to boost collagen and elasticity. The products gave slight tingle, but overall the treatment super relaxing, and the therapist had the perfect pressure and techniques for making me feel calm. Perfect for unwinding after a busy day – I found myself drifting off, yet again!

The Results

When I was gently woken by the therapist, I have to say I felt extremely well rested and that quick hour or so away from the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong worked wonders. My head felt clearer, and my skin even more so. I could really notice a difference in my skin, which was almost bouncier and fuller… I actually looked refreshed! I would definitely recommend this treatment and Sense of Touch if you’re looking for a really good facial that you can actually see a difference from afterwards. It’s such an easy spa to get to being bang in the centre of the city, and the therapists really know what they’re doing… what’s more, Sense of Touch is the only place in Hong Kong offering a treatment with these products at the moment. Say goodbye to those bags under the eyes!

Find out more about the treatment here. A 60-minute facial is $780, with a 75-minute facial coming in at $980. Choose from the Hydra Age Defence Facial or the Vital Skin Health Facial, which is better for sensitive skin.
