Sassy and the Sex and the City 2 Premiere

15 June, 2010

Last Thursday evening we found ourselves standing outside Pacific Place AMC, clipboards in hand, checking girls in to our premiere of the latest Sex and the City Movie. Amazingly given the number of girls involved, we got everyone into the cinema on time, and even convinced the cinema staff to let us display our big new Sassy banner and 50 pink helium balloons to guide girls towards their popcorn (thanks to photographer Billy who could have a new career in diplomatic relations!). Once we were finally all inside the cinema, we sat back and enjoyed the antics of Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda, and of course, all the fabulous fashion… There was plenty of laughter going on, and quite a few shocked gasps at some of the jokes. We couldn’t help noticing that one of Samantha’s ending scenes might have been a little bit edited for Hong Kong audiences as we can’t believe that one of her sex scenes could have been so tame, but we’ll have to wait to see it on DVD to find out!

After the movie, we gathered at Domani Restaurant for a Cosmopolitan nightcap and to discuss the movie. The general consensus was that everyone really enjoyed the movie, but it perhaps wasn’t quite as good as the first one. The fashions (and shoes!) were definitely more of a highlight than the storyline itself, and girls were divided as to whether they were for Aidan or Big! One thing everyone could agree on – what was that baggy brown coat that Carrie spent most of the end part of the movie wearing in Abu Dhabi?? Surely Pat Field could have found a slightly chic-er coverup for our heroine.

If they do end up making a Sex and the City 3, there are sure to be many keen viewers in Hong Kong! Check out the pictures from the SATC 2 event in our gallery.
