GREAT FOOD HALL, Hong Kong’s leading gourmet and international marketplace, premiers a brand new food x art concept!
For the first time in Hong Kong, GREAT FOOD HALL is incorporating art into its supermarket, providing an unmatched sensory experience by featuring contemporary artist David Leung’s surreal photography. Read ahead to learn more about this unique collaboration and the new experiences on offer!
Introducing A Novel Food x Art Concept
Already Hong Kong’s number one gourmet supermarket, GREAT FOOD HALL is bringing an even fresher take to its Pacific Place retail experience with GREAT Wonderland, an innovative event that merges art and food by exhibiting photographs, hosting games and providing tastings. The supermarket will debut this cross-disciplinary collaboration with renowned photographer David Leung on the heels of its 25th anniversary, reigning in a new era of food-retail experiences.
Leung is renowned for photography that highlights food’s surrealism (think zoomed-in shots that create faces out of dishes!), evoking the natural intersection between art and dining. For GREAT Wonderland, he has specially curated the exhibition “see food NOT see food – Shelf Life”, displaying five of his iconic photo series against GREAT’s supermarket shelves.
New Games, Tastings And More!
Why stop there? Heightening its food-art exhibition concept, GREAT FOOD HALL is launching an interactive game called the “Art Hunt Challenge” until 9 Decemeber, in which customers can search for Leung’s (hidden!) photo series. Game cards will correspond to products, allowing players to decrypt a password and participate in further games, including claw machines, to take home special prizes. At the same time, check out GREAT’s new product launches, which include a special “Squid Game” edition of Jonnie Walker, Pret a Manger granola range and more.
