Strange Fruit: Film Screening And Talk By Rae Hu

Looking for a (free) dose of culture this month? Join Ladies, Wine and Design at M&L for the debut Hong Kong screening of Rae Hu’s “Strange Fruit” – a film centred upon the loss of innocence. Set against the backdrop of 90’s Wenzhou, the story begins when a young girl lies to her parents for the first time. Stirring feelings of guilt and nostalgia, the film goes on to explore life in China during the large-scale economic reforms, as well as what it was like to grow up with absent parents. The screening will be followed by an intimate talk with Rae Hu herself, where she’ll share her creative process, screenwriting and film-making journey. Don’t forget to BYOB!
