Hong Kongโs weather is currently amazing and I am feeling so inspired to get creative with my wardrobe! There are so many fun pieces hitting the shelves that I know you want to snap upโฆ but what are some fresh ways to style these new items with the stuff you bought from last season and the season before? Well, weโre here to help and turn the old into new!
This is a task that may seem complicated at first but can really be a breeze when guided properly. To help you on this mission, Rach and I stopped by for a Style Jam session at HKโs very own fashion bureau Electric Sekki and with the help of their style guru (and our former That Girl!) Priscilla, we styled some super fun looks to inspire you in your own wardrobe wearing ways!
Basic you already own: the T-shirt
Letโs start super chill and build up from here. This is the perfect outfit for hitting up a cafรฉ and working on your laptop or addressing all those holiday cards you are planning on mailing out! We started with a basic baseball tee by Stylestalker and, instead of your ho-hum regular jeans, we tossed on a cute schoolgirl-chic plaid skirt from Twenty8Twelve. We autumn-ed it up with this amazing menโs sweater sleeved denim jacket by Insight 51, plus some metallic shades by Richard Nicholl x Ksubi. Boom! Instant upgrade from jeans and a t-shirt to something way more fun!
– StyleStalker is available at A Boutique, Little Black Dress and Magenta
– Twenty8Twelve is available at I.T
– Insight 51 is available at Bauhaus, I.T, Initial, Island Wake and Beams
– Richard Nicholl is available at I.T, Liger, Initial and Marisa Luisa
Basic you already own: the slip dress
Next up is a look for when you are meeting the ladies for brunch or maybe hitting up all those holiday bazaars that will soon pop up at every conference room in town! This royal blue Richard Nicholl slip dress has been topped with the coolest of colour-blocked sweaters. We add to the party with a yellow and orange belt and a bag that mimics the pattern of the sweater and compliments the belt (both by Sass & Bide). Paint your pout with an orangey hue and youโre off to paint the town red!
Sass & Bide is available at Harvey Nichols, I.T and Little Black Dress
Basic you already own: the white blouse
Letโs check out a look to take to the office! Pull out that staple breezy blouse that kept you cool all summer and add a super feminine tweed below the knee skirt. This one is by No. 21 by Alessandro DellโAcqua and shapes beautifully thanks to the thickness of the fabric and the flattering stitching on the hips. But the real showstopper here is the wood bead embellished Sass & Bide jacket โ a true investment piece for any wardrobe and super easy to pair with things thanks to its neutral colour! Word to the wise: donโt weigh yourself while wearing this creation! When work is over, trade the skirt and heels for cuffed skinny jeans and nude ballet flats (SAMBAG makes some gorgeous ones!), but keep the neon Sass & Bide clutch for a pop of color thatโs right on-trend.
No. 21 by Alessandro DellโAcqua is available at Harvey Nichols, I.T. and Alice House
Basic you already own: the motorcycle jacket
Motorcycle jackets arenโt just for jeans! When the day is done and itโs time to party then try this hot number on for size! The sweetness of this lace and tulle Alessandro DellโAcqua dress is amped up with the toughness of the leather jacket. And how gorgeous is the nude shade of this Twenty8Twelve jacket?! We paired the look with a Sass & Bide leopard clutch and rose gold necklace. Rose gold is making a huge comeback this season and leopard never really seems to go away so these are great pieces to keep in your wardrobe for seasons to come. Off you go on your very Sassy evening!
I hope youโve been inspired with a few fun ways to style yourself for fall. Donโt be afraid to mix and match high and low, casual and dressy or menswear and girlie goods โ the beauty of fashion is that you can express yourself in an instant. Go on, take a chance and have some funโฆ You may even surprise yourself with all the fun combos you can come up with!
