To celebrate the recent opening of Morty’s on Star Street, the deli resto has a brand new menu. Famous for its meaty specials, the new menu includes a Smoked Blue Cheese Burger ($148), a 30-Day Dry- Aged Tomahawk ($120 per 100g), BBQ Pork Ribs ($248 for a half rack; $368 for a full rack) and more. Exclusive to the Star Street branch is also the whopping 1kg Reuben Challenge ($588), available every Monday evening. Not for the faint of heart, finish this monster sarnie in half an hour and the meal is on them!

Zahrabel Dining Club

Zahrabel Dining Club is introducing its new ‘Arbaa’ (meaning ‘four’ in Arabic) sharing menu. Perfect for two, guests can choose from any four dishes from the sharing menu for $320 per head. Paired with dessert, Lebanese coffee (or mint tea), diners can sample Lebanese mezze dishes. All the sharing menus are served with complimentary Lebanese pickles and freshly baked bread.

Le Bistro Winebeast

Calling all seafood fanatics! For the entire month of August, this traditional French bistro has ramped up its seafood menu with tuna, octopus, halibut, and shrimp. The Great Pizza Bake Off at Mercato

It’s critics versus chefs in the Great Pizza Bake Off! Mercato Hong Kong will be hosting this rumble between 10 of Hong Kong’s most esteemed chefs and media personnel. The goal? Create the most delectable, wood-fired pizza that will make the crowd sing. Starting from 21 August, guests can sample an array of time-limited pizzas of original and surprising recipes.

Rech by Alain Ducasse

InterContinental Hong Kong’s new seafood restaurant, Rech by Alain Ducasse, presents a one-night-only Wine Dinner on 12 September. Featuring a selection of wine such as 2015 – Pinot Gris Reserve Particuliere and 2009 – Pinot Gris Vendanges, guests can sample from Domaine Weinbach – a wine estate in Alsace. The wine dinner will be presented over with a five-course meal, priced at $1,788 per person.

From 31 August to 14 September, TV celebrity chef and award-winning cookbook author, Judy Joo, will be returning to Hong Kong to celebrate the launch of the newly renovated Jinjuu Restaurant. Chef Juu and her team will bring to you a new seasonal lunch, dinner and weekend brunch featuring Baked Kimchi Halibut, Korean Cauliflower and more! Don’t forget to also save the date for 6 and 7 September, as Mina Park of Sook will be joining Judy Joo in the kitchen to present a special six-course Korean menu, with a modern twist!

YinYue

Michelin guide recommended Chinese restaurant, YinYue, is presenting a new selection of homemade condiments to bring out the flavours of Peking duck. In the eight-course menu, diners will get to sample chicken and wonton soup in casserole, baked seafood puffs with scallops and sauteed prawns with wild mushrooms. The meal will finish off with the steamed pone cake with egg yolk as dessert. Diners who want to also sample other delicacies besides the Peking duck can try the Abalone & Seafood Set Dinner, featuring braised sliced abalone, scallops with teriyaki sauce and deep-fried shrimp balls with almond. Available until 7 September, the menus are $2,888 for six people and $4,988 for 12 people. Panda Circle members can also enjoy discounted prices.

Cadenza

Cadenza is bringing its weekend Pasta Fiesta feast for diners to indulge in. From cream and freshly grated Parmesan cheese fettuccine and carbonara garlic to pecorino and egg yolk spaghetti, there is something here for everyone. Guests can check out the star of the show: an 8kg Parmigiano Reggiano Parmesan wheel! Aged 24 months, the cheese will be used for the porcini mushroom risotto. The antipasto buffet will feature items such as baked truffle chicken lasagna and homemade foie gras terrine, as well as an assortment of cold cuts.

​Grassroots Pantry: The Collective’s Table

For one night only, on Friday, 1 September, Margarita Forés, winner of 2016 Asia’s Best Female Chef, will join the Grassroots kitchen. Ten percent of the proceeds from the dinner will go towards AGREA Agricultural Communities International Foundation, a social enterprise based in the Philippines which supports local farming and agriculture through education and financial scholarships. The 10-course plant-based sharing menu will be priced at $680, inclusive of beverages (spritzers infused with fruits and herbs, sangrias, infusions).
