12 Chefs in HK raise funds for terror victims

Although we in HK often refer to ourselves as living “in a bubble,” we are more than aware of events that take place outside our shores. So when the tragedy in Barcelona happened last week, 12 Spanish restaurant chefs from Hong Kong and the Philippines, along with the Spanish Chefs Association in Asia, decided to do something about it.

On Tuesday, 29 August the group will feature “A Dinner For Barcelona,” a non-profit dinner ($400 per person, excluding drinks; $200 extra for free-flow) to benefit the victims of the attack. All proceeds from the dinner will go directly to a non-profit in Barcelona to aid the victims. The dinner will be an eight-course tapas menu, desserts and option of free-flow wine, beer, sangria and soft drinks.

“The recent terrorist attacks on Barcelona and Cambrils have deeply saddened me,” said Executive Chef and Partner, Alex Fargas. “When I heard that my home country had been brutally attacked, I was immensely worried about my family, friends and the people living in those areas. Through this non-profit dinner, I hope that we will be able to do our part to support [them].”

The chefs included come from Hong Kong (and Philippines) faves such as La Paloma, FoFo by el Willy, AMMO, Maximal Concepts, La Lola Group, Langham Hotels, Cassio, Catalunya, Zafran, as well as some private chefs.

Dinner reservations must be made in advance.
