Soho House Hong Kong

The long-awaited Soho House Hong Kong opened its doors in mid-September and offers up a range of food and beverage options for its members (and their lucky friends!). The exclusive members-only club features several lounge areas and a pool room, alongside an array of cocktail and coffee bars, a main brasserie and two private dining rooms. Diners can expect an all-day dining menu featuring many of the House favourites, including the famed Dirty Burger and fries ($148) and indulgent Mac & Cheese ($78). Hong Kong-exclusive dishes have also been added to the varied menu. Chef Chris Thompson shows off his Thai roots in the refreshing and light Khao yum rice salad with butterfly pea, pomelo, lemongrass and shredded coconut ($98), but dim sum classics, including king prawn har gao ($82 for four), wild mushroom dumplings ($62 for three) and baked char siu bao ($75 for two) are also available. Don’t leave without an order of traditional Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert, and wash the whole feast down with a spicy Picante De La Casa cocktail.

Wolfgang Puck Kitchen

Expanding his global empire, acclaimed Chef Wolfgang Puck has opened his first Hong Kong location with the arrival of Wolfgang Puck Kitchen at Hong Kong Airport. Now in its soft opening stage, travellers and visiting guests can dine in for breakfast, lunch, tea, dinner, late-night supper and cocktails. The menu focuses on Californian-inspired interpretations of global comfort, with breakfast offering hearty American-style dishes. Those just passing though can grab a slice of cake and a coffee or tea between 3pm and 6pm (including red velvet, cheesecakes and chocolate fudge brownie!), while main dishes on offer include contemporary twists on classic comfort dishes. The restaurant and bar also has a daily buy-one-get-one-free happy hour, running from 3pm until closing.

Duddell’s Hong Kong Airport

Another HK Airport opening this month is Duddell’s. The popular (and Michelin-starred!) modern Cantonese restaurant is known for serving up dim sum favourites, barbecued meats and more. Open now, the restaurant will be offering 24-hour dining to hungry travellers with a range of Cantonese comfort food and drinks.

Ruam

Open now in J Senses on Wan Chai’s bustling Ship Street, Ruam boasts a menu of Thai market favourites and cocktails. Along with small dishes that include Gai Ping (grilled chicken skewers), Moo Dad Deauw (sun-dried pork strips) and hearty mains such as Pla Yang Smun Prai (grilled seabass in banana leaf) and Gaeng Phed Ped Yang (red duck curry), guests can enjoy ice-cold Singha beer or the refreshing Oh Yeah! AZIZA Sai Ying Pun

After opening in Kennedy Town in 2017, Egyptian restaurant, AZIZA is now opening in Sai Ying Pun. Taking the spot of the recently closed Classified, AZIZA Sai Ying Pun is set to serve the same authentic Middle Eastern fare as its K-Town counterpart. Koji Charcoal Grill

Koji Charcoal Grill opened its doors in September and specialises in Japanese charcoal-grilled dishes – if the name didn’t already give that away! The izakaya-style restaurant serves a selection of expertly-grilled skewers, with signature dishes including chicken thigh skewers, chicken meat ball skewers, charcoal-grilled Japanese wild eel, beef chuck roll salad and more. For the full Koji experience opt for one of the restaurants Omasake menus. The Tamagasumi ($980) features a chef’s selection of appetiser, eight types of assorted kushiyaki (skewered chicken), clay pot rice, soup and dessert; while the Hoju ($1,580) features an even bigger selection of assorted kushiyaki.
