Cruising Cocktails on the Aqua Luna – see the city in style!

27 November, 2012

I love a good jaunt over to the ‘dark side’ at night – the streets are buzzing, the shopping is phenom and the harbour side bar scene boasts breathtaking views of Hong Kong Island. But the thing that tends to put me off making the journey is the task of getting there. To jump in a cab? Hop on the MTR? Board the Star Ferry? These are the questions…

Good thing is, a fourth mode of transport has now entered the ring – and it includes cocktails!

Cruising Cocktails puts a new spin on luxury bar hopping – except rather than trawling your way around Soho, you’re going from one side of the harbour to the other! Created by the Aqua Restaurant Group, the goal is to add a touch of glam to what can otherwise be a hassle of a trip. In true highlife style, guests are transported across the channel between two of Aqua’s most stunning bars, the sleek Armani/Privé and breath-taking aqua spirit (check out that view!) aboard the iconic red-sailed Chinese junk, aqua luna.

Included in the ticket price ($220) are two signature cocktails that can be enjoyed at either bar (one at each or two at the one of your choice) as well as the harbour crossing. The cocktail list is rather impressive too, including the likes of the signature Armani Spritz, aqua Mojito (above right), aquatini, classic Cosmopolitan, and (my personal fave; shown above left) the Ginger Storm – a delish mix of gin, freshly squeezed lemon juice, canton, peach puree, angostura bitters, ginger beer and sliced ginger.

Cruising Cocktails is a fun thing to do if you’re in the mood for something different next time you’re out or if you have guests in town who want to see the city in significant style. The cityscape is looking exceptionally awesome at the moment with all the colourful Christmas lights in full force so now’s the perfect time to go cruising!

Cruising Cocktails runs on Thursday and Friday nights from 10.30-11.30pm. Tickets cost $220, including two cocktails at either aqua spirit or Armani/Privé; you can buy online or on-site at Armani/Privé or aqua spirit.
