We’ll be the first to admit it – the sleeker, the pinker and more millennial, the better. Forget science! Forget results! Is it a cute bottle? Take our money. We’ve been known to purchase products we don’t even want just because we know how good they’ll look on our dressers (our bank balances tremble when we hit Sephora!). But as we like to endorse great beauty products AND encourage fiscal responsibility, we’ve cut out the middle man and curated a list of gram-worthy beauty products that not only look good – but actually work too.
Having seen a plethora of it-girls, influencers and makeup artists rave about this mask, one member of Team Sassy tweaked several muscles rushing to the shops the day it was released. Packed full of super-soothing ingredients (with a calming scent and bouncy texture), this mask delivers a boost of moisture to thirsty skin, leaving it plump and soothed. Don’t get on your next flight without it!
Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask, available online from Selfridges for $365
One of our favourite makeup artists (@katiejanehughes – if you know, you know) swears by this product, so of course we immediately had to try it. Rosehip oil is heaped with Omegas 3, 6, 7 and 9, and is great for restoring stressed-out skin to its former glory. The scent is subtle and earthy, and it feels incredibly luxurious to use.
Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil, available online or in store from Sephora from $165
No one loves a multi-tasking product more than us and this one certainly lives up to the hype. Not only does this oil smooth hair, you can use it all over your body for a subtle, sexy glow. Bonus: it smells so divine, you’ll find people asking what perfume you’re wearing!
OUAI Rose Hair And Body Oil, available online or in store from Sephora from $140
Okay, this isn’t strictly a beauty product. But candles = self care and self care = looking great, right? We like to light this candle if we’re getting ready for a special occasion. It’s decadent, rosy, and turns an ordinary day into something a little more special. Pro tip: the first time you light a candle, make sure it burns all the way to the edge to prevent it from tunnelling down in the future.
Overose Nudesse Candle, available online from Lane Crawford for $560
As if the cute lilac packaging didn’t already sell this to us, this award-winning face cream promises to defend skin against environmental stressors (we’re looking at you HK pollution) and is enriched with ceramides to pack a big punch of moisture and restore lacklustre skin.
Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream, available online or in store from Sephora for $465
Seriously. How cute are these? If you’ve had a big night, or have a big night coming up, these little wonders will de-puff and hydrate your peepers and leave them looking like they’ve enjoyed eight hours sleep in no time. Plus, the selfie opportunities are way too good to pass up!
KNC Beauty All Natural Retinol Infused Eye Mask, available from Net-A-Porter for $315
One more mask for the road! We were initially skeptical about the hype this product received, but after only one use, one member of Team Sassy swore her skin felt visibly softer, looked calmer and clearer, and was impressed it didn’t leave any residue on the pillow (like some other sleeping masks). It’s made with real watermelon so it smells divine and is such a treat to apply. Go forth and glow!
Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask, available from Cult Beauty from around $200
