A Very Sassy Halloween: we picnic in the park with Brick Lane! Plus a special Sassy Giveaway!

In case you couldn’t already tell from our Facebook, Instagram feed and Snapchat, we love a bit of dressing up here at Sassy HQ! Last Friday we went all out with our costumes, giving people on the MTR a bit of a fright in the morning…

To celebrate the spookiness of Halloween and the fact that it was a Friday (TGIF!) we decided to head out into the sunshine for a Sassy Halloween Picnic. We were so lucky that the fabulous folks at Brick Lane (read our full review of this fab resto here) hooked us up with all our picnic essentials, providing a beautiful blanket, picnic baskets, plates, cutlery and a delicious spread of picnic goodies as part of the Brick Lane Picnic Basket.

When we arrived at the peaceful Sun Yat Sen Park (see more picnic spot options here), there was everything you could dream of for a picnic – from roast chicken with potatoes, stuffing and broccoli to grilled prawns, calamari, truffle fries, sandwiches, salads and scones!

We couldn’t get enough of the delicious truffle fries and the tomato drenched meatballs, especially with a cheeky glass of wine to wash them down.

We had to end our party picnic on a sweet note, so we tucked into some beautifully presented desserts. The chocolate cake was delicious (even though it did melt a little in the sunshine!) and we loved the crunchy pieces in the middle of the decadent chocolately sauce. The signature dessert from Brick Lane is the Red Velvet cake, and we couldn’t help Instagramming these incredibly cute cakes! The added dried rose petal on top was so pretty, and really made this dessert very Sassy indeed.

After a funny game of cards against humanity, team Sassy was suitable stuffed and entertained! We would definitely recommend the Brick Lane picnic is you’re looking for a ready-made picnic feast that delivers all the essentials and more. The food is tasty, there is a variety of options and of course, the wine is a huge bonus! Cheers!
