To commemorate International Women’s Day and this year’s charge to #PressForProgress for gender parity, join us and Garage Academy for a breakfast roundtable with the founders of Green Queen and Saij Elle on how women can harness the power of digital and financial knowledge to build a better future for themselves, their businesses and communities. Breakfast and refreshments will be served, and all proceeds from this event will benefit Teen’s Key, a local NGO providing counselling, skills training and mentorship for young women and girls who were or still are in the sex trade to go back to school or start a new career.

Showcasing Rachel Peng, founder of Free Water HK and Christy Chow, artist and winner of the 2017 Hong Kong Human Rights Art Prize, amongst others, the event will also feature a Pierre Hermé macaron and chocolate station, along with a wine bar wine by female winemakers, Jane Hunter of Hunter Wines and Ayana Misawa of Grace Winery as well as the chance to win two tickets to Sonar festival!

Coinciding with Art Month, Hong Kong Conversations is celebrating women in art this IWD. Organised in collaboration with the New Hall Art Collection, the 2018 edition of Hong Kong Conversations is bringing together artists, researchers, and art practitioners to discuss how the status and representation of women artists in Hong Kong have changed from the 1960s. Addressing questions such as “What does it mean to be a woman artist?” and considering the representation of women artists from three different art institutions, it’s sure to be a thought provoking evening.
