Walk and Talk for Career Success: Mentor Walks Hong Kong

Kick off IWD events this year with Mentor Walks Hong Kong. Women's Adventure Film Tour - Hong Kong

Get truly inspired this Women’s Day with a series of short films celebrating the fantastic women around us who are doing extraordinary things. With a focus on adventure, the environment and heart-warming stories, the films shown have been selected from the Mountainfilm festival in Telluride, Colorado, and this is one evening that’s sure to empower us all!

Embroidery - Wednesday's at The Winery!

Have a little fun and support girl power, with Make and Do Hong Kong’s Wednesday’s at The Winery! #PressForProgress IWD Breakfast Roundtable with Sassy Hong Kong x Green Queen x Saij Elle

To commemorate International Women’s Day and this year’s charge to #PressForProgress for gender parity, join us and Garage Academy for a breakfast roundtable with the founders of Green Queen and Saij Elle on how women can harness the power of digital and financial knowledge to build a better future for themselves, their businesses and communities. Breakfast and refreshments will be served, and all proceeds from this event will benefit Teen’s Key, a local NGO providing counselling, skills training and mentorship for young women and girls who were or still are in the sex trade to go back to school or start a new career.

Better in Bed Live Launch

We’re big fans of HK podcast, Better in Bed, so we’re set to join them at Picada for a live recording in celebration of IWD! The recording will discuss “Secrets of the Bedroom”, with a panel of Better in Bed’s favourite guests leading the discussion. Setting out to encourage us to take control of our knowledge and use it to embrace and celebrate women, this is an event you won’t want to miss!

Celebrating lesser known Hong Kong women who campaign daily to bring change to their causes and communities, this event is sure to be empowering and inspiring. Showcasing Rachel Peng, founder of Free Water HK and Christy Chow, artist and winner of the 2017 Hong Kong Human Rights Art Prize, amongst others, the event will also feature a Pierre Hermé macaron and chocolate station, along with a wine bar wine by female winemakers, Jane Hunter of Hunter Wines and Ayana Misawa of Grace Winery as well as the chance to win two tickets to Sonar festival!

Hong Kong Conversations: Women in Art

Coinciding with Art Month, Hong Kong Conversations is celebrating women in art this IWD. Organised in collaboration with the New Hall Art Collection, the 2018 edition of Hong Kong Conversations is bringing together artists, researchers, and art practitioners to discuss how the status and representation of women artists in Hong Kong have changed from the 1960s. Addressing questions such as “What does it mean to be a woman artist?” and considering the representation of women artists from three different art institutions, it’s sure to be a thought provoking evening.
