The Fall/Winter collection from La Perla gives us everything we’ve come to expect from this luxury lingerie brand and more. They’ve gone all film noir on us, with underwear sets recalling those on-screen sirens of cinema from years gone by: Lauren Bacall, Barbara Stanwyck and Ava Gardner.

With contrasting textures, fake boning suggested by satin trimming and crossover ribbons of corsetry, these are pieces that take us back to those days when functional underwear was beautiful and you would slip into something more “comfortable” for when your husband came home at cocktail hour…

With contrasting textures and plenty of peekaboo skin flashes through lace and tulle, this mix of femininity and Italian sensuality makes us covet this collection. The only issue I have with the beautiful images? The fact that the model in the second and last pictures looks a little like she might be dreaming of having a sandwich… We like a few more curves on our lingerie models please!
