Sweet spring outfits – a new season at Jack Wills!

8 March, 2012

There is something to be said for the simple t-shirt and jeans. Nowadays, it can take you anywhere and can be made even more chic rolled-up and embellished with a great pair of heels and a few bracelets. Hang a blazer over the shoulders and grab an oversized clutch and you are on your way to a date, dinner or shopping… pretty much anywhere. This is clothing for your life.

Jack Wills makes clothing to live in. These are the garments that you work, play, scurry, fret, rejoice, nap and wander in. The ones that keep you cozy on the rainy days and smiling on the sunny ones. Sure, it’s “Fabulously British” but it is fabulously practical too.

At the recent Spring Summer preview event, we got to snap a few pics of what is up and coming. There were fantastic sheer floral blouses (a personal fave), boyfriend blazers, slim fit khaki pants, and a wide range of minis and day dresses with the cutest little blooming prints.

I was also moderately obsessed with the tweed blazers and cricket sweaters; though the latter were meant for the gentlemen, I couldn’t help but want one for myself! It would be so cute belted over skinny pants or even over a maxi skirt with little boots. Who cares that none of my American friends know what cricket is!  The colorful cardis alone are reason enough for a trip to Causeway Bay… and once you’re there, the floral prints will make you pull out your Cathay AmEx!

Anther highlight was when they let me play dress up with our very own That Girl Elle Lee! I dashed over to the racks and loaded up my arms with the best of the collection. We did a spin-off of the previously mentioned t-shirt and jeans, dressing it up a bit and creating a “Sassy Saturday” outfit.  Of course, the tweed blazer made the cut (and as JJ from The Wanderlister proves, tweed looks just as good on the boys too)! Here is a little video from our styling expedition, including some other tips of how to wear the pieces featured.

Be sure to check out the huge Jack Wills store in Causeway Bay to stock your closet – not only with the sweet spring attire but also all the other go-to basics that every closet needs.
