Erdinger Oktoberfest: 21-22 October

12 October, 2011

The entry into fall like weather has us wanting to tuck into some comfort food and a nice mug of beer. Thankfully Hong Kong loves a good celebration which means that Oktoberfest can come to us despite the fact that we live nowhere near Germany. For the third year in a row Hong Kong Islands biggest beerfest will be calling a new place home. The Erdinger Oktoberfest will be held at the Indian Recreation Club in Causeway Bay (opposite HK Stadium) on Friday 21 October and Saturday 22 October.

Erdinger beer will be celebrating its 125th anniversary this year so you can expect a bit more wow next weekend then other years. There will be a larger variety of their famed wheat beer and you can even purchase a Bier Pass for $250 which will provide you with four (full!) pint beers. You can travel through the Erdinger Weiss, Dunkel, Oktoberfest Brew and Fischer’s beer zones and nibble on Schweinshaxe, Sausages and other traditional favourites as you make your way through the different zones.

It wouldn’t be an Erdinger Oktoberfest party without…. the Flying Sausages! The Munich band are gearing up to have guests dancing on tables and signing traditional German songs mixed in with some modern new ones. There will also be plenty of contests and prizes to win and there will even be one for the best costume. Best costume will receive a free year of Erdinger Beer!

Let’s hope for some chilly fall temps so we can wrap up in sweaters while we sink our teeth into our sausages and beer.

Sassy Giveaway: We have 3 sets of 2 tickets to give away for Friday nights festivities. To enter the giveaway email [email protected] with the subject line Erdinger Oktoberfest Giveaway. The 3 winners will be selected on Thursday 13 October.
