What's On HK

Cupcake Voyage Exhibition

30 July, 2010
If you’re looking for something a little different to do this weekend, check out the Cupcake Voyage Exhibition at Gallery by the Harbour in Harbour City Mall. With plenty of quirky installations, guest blogger Kylene tells us why this is such a sweet treat!

Guess what this is (below)! This is a pop art painting made up of about 2000 mini cupcakes! I was out and about enjoying Hong Kong over the weekend as per usual and visiting the “Cupcake Voyage” Art Exhibition. If you love cupcakes as much as I do and enjoy admiring those that are just too pretty to eat, you would love this too.

I mean, look at that! I spot a ruffled dress, a Tiffany box with Tiffany inspired cupcakes and do you see that pink mouth with the Marilyn Monroe beauty mark?

The attention to detail in each and every cupcake was very pretty. The colours, the little sprinkles, chocolates, coloured sugar and icing… Ahh. It makes you feel like staring at them and getting them just for display and at the same time, it makes you feel like bringing them all home and gobbling them all! Decisions, decisions.

But how could you blame me? With cupcakes that look like these, how does anyone resist?

Visit their Facebook page for more information and to see more photos. Even better, go to the exhibition! It’s ongoing till August 1. J

P.S. There’s a giant cupcake featured at this exhibition that you must see!
