WEEKENDER: Fifi launch party, Taipan Challenge & More!

13 April, 2012

We hope you all enjoyed your Easter break (we know we did!) and didn’t scoff too many chocolate eggs! Forget pining for your lazy lie-ins and holiday sunshine and start filling up those diaries; here are our top picks for what’s on this upcoming week.

Shop til you drop…
We love finding out about cool new designers… so come celebrate the launch of fab new HK-based fashion line Fifi by checking out their glam Spring/Summer 2012 Collection! …and shop some more!
If that wasn’t enough shopping for you, head on to online boutique Aroxta’s pop-up shop at Hyde! You can browse the latest collections of some of HK’s up-and-coming clothing, jewellery and accessories designers, enjoy a special ‘style lunch’, get indulgent with some sweet treats and spa goodies and snag a few discounts too! There’s also a cocktail party from 7-9pm, with complimentary cocktails made by Hyde’s master mixologists and a chance to see HK’s hottest style bloggers at work in a styling competition. Bonus, if you mention Sassy when you arrive you will get a $100 voucher to spend on their online boutique!

When: 19 April, 11am-9pm

Scrum’s on – in style
Got Rugby Sevens withdrawal symptoms? Well, sigh no more and check out the 60th annual Taipan Challenge instead! A one-day festival of rugby, with international, local, student and up-and-coming teams all joining in, this year it’s partnered by the fabulously British Jack Wills – and there will be post-match drinks, live music, a DJ and a bit of a party at the Causeway Bay store afterwards to celebrate!

When: 14 April, starts 12pm; post-match party 7-10pm
Where: Hong Kong Football Club, 3 Sports Road, Happy Valley; after-party at Jack Wills, Leighton Centre, 77 Leighton Road, Causeway Bay
How much: Free

All aboard!
In case you’re wondering why we’re being subjected to endless renditions of My Heart Will Go On all over again, it’s because it’s the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. If you don’t fancy watching Jack and Rose in 3D on the big screen, how about enjoying some good grub instead with Grand Central Bar & Grill’s Titanic-themed weekend brunch. They’ll be serving dishes recreated from the ship’s menu, including roast duck with pumpkin and asparagus, lamb chops with ratoutille and mint sauce, and roast turkey with blueberry-braised red cabbage and cranberry sauce

When: 15 April, 11am-4pm
Where: Grand Central Bar & Grill, Shop R001, Roof Level, Civic Square, Elements, 1 Austin Road West, Kowloon Station, Kowloon, Hong Kong
How much: Dishes start from $188

Try your luck
