Not sure whether this is common knowledge or if I’ve just been living under a rock, but I only recently found out MAC offers a brow shaping service.
When the chance came along to let one of their pros work their magic on my eyebrows, I realised it had been a long time – years in fact – since I’d treated myself to a professional shaping session. I’m a bit of a tweezer queen and somehow thought I’d been doing an okay job on the DIY maintenance front, however, after a consultation (that involved the MAC makeup artist drawing around the perimeter of each brow with a white eyeliner pencil), I realised they were in fact two different shapes! Although the variance was only slight, as soon as the shape defect was pointed out it was suddenly blaringly obvious… my DIY tweezer work was a sham!
Thankfully, my brow freak out was short lived. As soon as the makeup artist and I agreed on a shape, she set swiftly to work. Once the plucking was complete (and even some snipping with the world’s tiniest pair of functional scissor blades), she proceeded to fill them in with a pencil and angle brush, taking the time to explain how best to do it myself in the process.
At the end of the 30-minute consultation, my brows were looking sleek and chic – it’s crazy how professional shaping can frame and balance your overall face! I was advised to pop back in four weeks in order to maintain the shape, which I’ve been doing since. A couple of my friends (including fellow Sassy writer Jojo) have jumped on the MAC brow bandwagon too and are thrilled with what they see. Good looking brows all round!
The brow shaping service at MAC is available at stores across Hong Kong and costs $150 for a session, or $750 for a package of six.
