John Anthony has just launched its 42 Day Roasted Peking Duck, and it’s not to be missed.
Found in the heart of Causeway Bay in Lee Garden Three, John Anthony is a groundbreaking sustainable restaurant, which specialises in handmade dim sum, charcoal-grilled meats, and innovative flavours. We already know and love its expansive dim sum menu – not to mention its house-distilled gin collection – and now the restaurant has added an incredible 42 Day Roasted Peking Duck to its menu.
A staple of Cantonese celebratory feasts, nothing beats a Peking duck, and John Anthony’s offering is no exception. The ducks are specially bred and raised to 42 days old, at which point they are roasted for 24-hours in John Anthony’s custom wood oven to achieve that classic crispy skin and succulent meat. Those who are looking for the familiar flavours and accompaniments won’t be disappointed. The duck at John Anthony is served with traditional sides such as cucumber, scallion and pancakes, but the restaurant has also added its own modern twist, with the addition of watermelon radish, a housemade black pepper sauce and five spice.
In keeping with John Anthony’s principles of sustainability, guests are also able to order an optional second Peking duck course to make the most of the delicious delicacy. Made using leftover parts of the duck, dishes on offer are either Stir Fried Duck Rack or Minced Duck in Edible Spoon.
Plus, with the festive season approaching, John Anthony is the perfect place to book for a group when you want something a little different to traditional holiday fare. The 42 Day Roasted Peking Duck can be ordered as a whole ($590) or half portion ($340) now (orders must be made at least 24-hours in advance), and is sure to make the perfect centrepiece at any gathering. Along with the show-stopping duck, guests can tuck into the likes of Iberico Pork Presa Char Siu; Soft Shell Crab Cheung Fun; BBQ Pineapple and Pork Puffed Buns and more, all while relaxing in the restaurant’s award-winning interior. Just be sure to wash your meal down with one or two of the restaurant’s zero waste cocktails, which are all made with sustainably sourced ingredients.
