Rosé all day, just like the experts, with Wines Of Provence…
Summer is in full swing here in Hong Kong, which means it’s time to stop and smell (read drink!) the rosé. A crowd favourite, rosé possesses the crispness of a white with the fruity richness of red – the best of both worlds! While we’re no strangers to the pink stuff, we’ll be the first to admit that we’re not experts. So, when the professionals at Wines Of Provence offered to share their top tips for drinking rosé, we jumped at the opportunity. Read on to discover what we learned, before picking up your bottle of Provence rosé at Wines Of Provence’s partner retail stores and supermarkets across Hong Kong…
Choosing A Rosé
A good bet is to go with a rosé that was produced in Provence, with AOP (protected designation of origin). The region is the first in France to specialise in rosé wine-making, and remains the number one region worldwide for quality rosé wines today.
Serve Chilled
Provence Rosé should be served chilled between 8° and 10° C, but never with ice cubes. Make sure to also chill your wine glasses in the fridge until the last moment too!
The Right Glass
Rosé should be poured into a large stemmed glass, which is preferably tapered at the top. The glass should be filled to one third of its capacity.
Savour With Your Senses
Start by taking in the beautiful colour of your rosé – is it a lush pink, bright watermelon or deeper redcurrent? Then move onto smell, and indulge in the scents and aromas of summer. Finally, taste; take a sip and enjoy all the flavours of the fruits, freshness and coolness, and be transported to the dreamy climes of Provence.
