Another weekend, another Weekender to update you on the best events happening around Hong Kong! Head to the harbour and watch the awesome dragon boat races, enjoy a beer at a block party in Sheung Wan or join a poetry and music night for a great cause. There’s plenty to keep you entertained after yesterday’s public holiday!
Yesterday may have been the official day of celebrations for the Dragon Boat Festival, but the festivities continue into the weekend with the annual Dragon Boat Carnival. Join fans from around the world and watch thousands of the world’s top dragon boat athletes compete… Enjoy the beat of the drums, the roaring cheers and ice-cold beers while soaking in the sun at Victoria Harbour.

Craftissimo and Gweilo Beer have partnered up to bring you a block party that guarantees a good time! Grab your friends and dance the night away while enjoying the selection of free, locally brewed beer from four kegs of Gweilo Beer. It doesn’t get much better! There will also be a 10% discount off six-pack Gweilo beers if you want to take the party home with you.

Head to Orange Peel in Central for a night of music and poetry based on the themes of gender equality and consent, all in support of RainLily, Hong Kong’s only crisis centre for female victims of sexual violence. There will be a ‘Connecting with Survivors Talk Board’ where guests can respond to quotes and artwork from survivors, as well as neck and shoulder massages available (for a small donation). This is not an event to miss if you want to support this worthwhile cause!

How much: Entry is by donation – the suggested donation is $180 which includes 1 free drink!
Champagne loving ladies can’t miss the #MoëtPartyDay this Saturday! The whole day will be filled with exciting events around town, such as a Champagne Zen workshop at Cabana (think yoga, brunch and champagne), some summer shopping at Lane Crawford and a “Street Food Glam” dinner at SOHOFAMA. Party the night away after at the Moët Ice Impérial Pop Up Lounge or, if you’re too tired to party hard, go midnight bowling with your friends at dragon-i. It’s all about the bubbles this Saturday!

… What’s the best popup of them all? For the next three weekends, Dine & Design will be partnering with Miramar Shopping Centre to bring you Mira Discovery – a cool Designer Fashion Popup store. This weekend is the launch, which means live music and wait for it… FREE WINE! Come support talented designers and get some Summer shopping underway!
