Pink Season Comedy Night

Pink Season is Hong Kong’s annual festival of LGBTQ+ events, celebrating acceptance, inclusion and awareness. Taking place this October and kicking off the festivities, Pink Season Comedy Night will feature Sam See (of MTV, Comedy Central Asia and Edinburgh Fringe) as the headline act, along with an incredible line-up of comedians. Asia Contemporary Art Show Fall 2019

Taking place from Saturday, 5 to Monday, 7 October, the Asia Contemporary Art Show is back for another season this month. Now in its 15th edition, the show will welcome more than 60 galleries from across Asia and around the world, including up-and-coming and mid-career artists, with over 1,500 pieces of contemporary original paintings, limited editions, sculptures and photography on display.

Jazz on the Beach

Head to Lantau Pui O Beach to enjoy an afternoon of sea, sand and jazz. Taking place at Treasure Island beach Club, Jazz on the Beach is all about spreading the positive message of  “Love Wins. Love Always Wins” through music. There will be five unique jazz bands playing, along with a chilled-out atmosphere and plenty of food and drinks to enjoy.

October Discovery Bay Sunday Market

Back this October, the Discovery Bay Sunday Market is full of unique artists, makers, designers and bakers. The craft-market showcases local, independent vendors selling their handmade or self-designed wares. Featuring items such as; handmade bags, jewellery, home accessories, fine art, stationery and paper craft, and children’s accessories, the market is filled with one-of-a-kind and limited edition items found nowhere else! Fjällräven Classic Hong Kong

Classic Hong Kong is the continuation of the tried, tested and loved Fjällräven Classic multi-day trekking concept. After successful concepts in Sweden, Denmark and the USA, it’s now Hong Kong’s turn to take on the Fjällräven way of trekking. The 47,88km trek will take place over three days and includes steep climbs, beach camping and breathtaking views, with Fjällräven Classic taking care of the logistics – including food, transfers, checkpoints, support and even a few little treats along the way.

Rotten Head Music Festival

Featuring over 10 Lantau and Hong Kong craft breweries, delicious food stalls, pop-up shows, the Handmade Hong Kong market, plenty of live music and more, Rotten Head Music Festival is not to be missed this month. Not only will local breweries such as Heroes and Moonzen be there to keep you hydrated all day long, but food from Pizza Express, Filipino Street Food and Kimos Indian Cuisine will keep you energised and ready for the eclectic line up of musical talent. The festival is also striving to be as low impact as possible on the environment, with a zero single-use plastic policy, so expect reusable cups and food waste to be composted.

Pink Walk for Breast Health 2019

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the annual Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation Pink Walk is taking place on Sunday, 27 October. This charity is dedicated to safeguarding the health of women in Hong Kong by promoting breast health awareness and encouraging women to undertake regular breast screening. So the fundraising event directly helps to enable the charity to continue its work to mitigate the threat of breast cancer to the local community through education, patient support services and research-based advocacy. Don’t forget to dress in pink and that the event is dog-friendly, so be sure to bring your furry friend along for the walk! If you don’t have time to join in, but still want to donate, you can do here.

Wine & Dine Festival 2019

The annual Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival is back for its 11th year running at the end of October. Expect food, drinks, live music and entertainment right next to the stunning Victoria Harbour, with the event featuring over 400 booths serving world-class food and drinks from around the globe.
