What's On HK

WEEKENDER: W Hong Kong Pool Party, tea tasting at Teakha, HK Ballet’s Cinderella and more!

24 August, 2012

We know that the end of the Olympics (and the departure of Abercrombie’s 100 hot guys!) has left a gaping hole in your weekend entertainment, so we’ve brought you a few fun activities to fill the void!

Wet n’ wild
What do you get when you put together a fashion runway, a fabulous swimming pool and lots of cocktails? That’s right, the W Hong Kong’s Get Wet Summer Series Pool Party! Models will be strutting their stuff in PUMA Black Label’s outer space inspired collection, whilst you can show off your bikini bod poolside and sip down on Absolut Vodka cocktails – then head to the after-party at WOOBAR to carry on the fun! This is as glam at pool parties get… and certainly as high as they get too, since the Wet Deck is the highest outdoor pool in HK. Vertigo certainly won’t stop us from having a splash this summer!

When: 25 August, 8pm-3am
Where: W Hong Kong, 1 Austin Road West, Kowloon Station, Kowloon, Hong Kong
How much: $300 (includes one free drink), $850 (includes free-flow drinks and one drink at the after-party); www.hkticketing.com, 3128 8288

A nice cuppa…
Gone are the days where you’d order a simple green tea because it’s the only thing you recognise on the menu! After this Tea Tasting Experience at Teakha, you will become an expert in amazing Asian black teas thanks to tea master Vivian Mak from MingCha, all paired with some of Teakha’s scrummy homemade apple pie and ginger ice cream too! Tea AND dessert? Sounds like a perfect night to us!

Where: Teakha, Shop B, 18 Tai Ping Shan Street, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong
How much: $180 per person; RSVPs required, email [email protected]

What with our hectic 24/7 working lives, sometimes it’d be nice to return to our childhood of fairytales and princesses. Well now you can bring some sparkle to your weekend with the Hong Kong Ballet’s performance of the ever-enchanting Cinderella! Tickets are selling out fast so book your seats stat to enjoy a night’s escape with this beautiful ballet.
