After last month’s burger showdown, Ear Belly is back with another cool event – this time, a Carnival themed bash! Keeping things hot with an array of spicy and soulful Caribbean, Creole and Cajun food, this is a great opportunity to try out deliciously different cuisines in a street-party style atmosphere. Chef Lori from Magnolia (the venue for our Sassy Giveaway this month!) and Chef Jack from Restoration will be cooking up a spice storm, with Jamaican jerk, burritos and plenty more sure to get your taste-buds dancing… along with the live roots and reggae from The Red Stripes band and a selection of great DJs for an afternoon of great beats and Caribbean treats! Get ready for some cold rum, hot food and Mardi-Gras style soul.

A pop-up shop with pizza… that’s all for a good causeRedress (an NGO promoting environmental sustainability in the fashion industry) has teamed up with Pizza Express for the Get Redressed Pop-Up Shop, a stylish second-hand fashion sale where you can shop high-street and high-end pieces at bargain prices – including items from Redress’s ‘365 Challenge’, which saw founder Christina Dean wear second-hand clothing for a year (and look amazing!). All proceeds from the pop-up shop will go to Friends of the Earth Hong Kong and Redress, as well as $8 from every Quattro Fromaggi pizza at Pizza Express… all the more reason to indulge in our passions for fashion and food, and the ideal way to cure those Monday blues!

It’s the last week to catch sought-after Aussie artist Emma Hack’s Trompe L’Oeil Exhibition at the Cat Street Gallery… and trust us, it’s not to be missed! Art lover or not, you won’t fail to be wowed by the skill and beauty of these ethereal works – mixing photography with Hack’s amazingly-skilled body painting to blend figures with their backgrounds and create stunning and unusual optical illusions. You might remember the ultra cool video for Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used to Know’ which featured Hack’s work, so come get your fill in person with her first solo show in Hong Kong!
