The ideas for Celine’s collection comes from the ’60s drawings, by the artist Charley Harper, representing little animals like fish and birds. It is easy to understand the influence of these years in shoe design. The color scale consists of a mix of brilliant and fluorescent shades like pink, turquoise, yellow, pastel, and more natural colors like grey, beige and pink.
Celine isn’t the only fashion house showcasing exaggerated heels and surreal designs for Spring/Summer 2009. Here is a peak at some of the shoes in stores now:
