If you think that LKF can only offer mad nights out and horrendous hangovers, I’ve got a real treat for you. For nestled in the heart of our dearly beloved Lan Kwai Fong is Suavis Lash Bar – a high end 3D lash boutique, which combines Japanese and Russian techniques to give you the lashes of a queen. We’ve checked them out before (see our review here) and we were invited back to try the new Russian 3D Lash Extensions. That being said, as a girl who jumps a mile at even the thought of someone touching my eyes, successfully attaching anything whilst battling with my involuntary flutter-fest was going to be impressive.

First Impressions

Stepping out of the elevator, you enter a high-rise haven of dressing tables, bird cages and dainty teacups. Vintage crockery is my catnip, so you can imagine my delight when I was presented with a beautiful cup and saucer to sip on. I was feeling glamorous and relaxed already.

The Treatment

A short consultation with one of Suavis’ eyelash stylists was first on the agenda. Still cooing over my tea cup, I filled out a form with details of any allergies/health problems so that the appropriate glue could be used. There are four lash styles available at Suavis – each one developed to enhance a different eye shape. ‘Sexy’, their most popular style, was the clear winner for me because any help achieving ‘sexy’ in this heat and humidity must be grabbed with both hands.

With my consultation complete, I was tucked up in a dreamy reclining chair. Firstly, moisturising Q-10 patches are placed around your eyes, and your lashes are cleaned to remove any lingering makeup. Then, for the next two hours, whilst your ears are treated to a relaxing music mix, your lashes are pampered and preened. I was amazed at how quickly I relaxed, but you hardly feel a thing! It’s the perfect opportunity to lie back, escape the bustling streets and plan out your evening/weekend/plans for world takeover.

The Verdict

My lashes haven’t seen a whiff of mascara since my trip to Suavis, yet they look the fullest they ever have. Not only do these clever little extensions buy you a couple more minutes tucked up in bed on a morning, you’re all set for junk boats and pool parties. Plus you can commence every night out confident that your lashes will still be looking good at 4am (though the rest is questionable!). The price tags of individual treatments range between $600 and $1,000, depending on your selected style. Suavis’ extensions last for 4-6 weeks, and cause absolutely no damage to your own, home-grown lashes. It’s perfect, then, that you can book in for individual replacements for just $8 each!
