www.NoveltyLane.com is a fantastic new Hong Kong based online shop that basically does the hunting for you! They sell a range of unique and stylish items from cool, independent boutiques and edgy alternative brands from all over Asia – the equivalent of an online trek through Soho but without the hassle… or the hills!
There are plenty of clothes and shoes on offer if that floats your boat, but where we think Novelty Lane really stands out is in its selection of fun and quirky accessories – which, if we do say so ourselves, would make great Christmas presents (hint hint!) and ideal stocking-stuffers!
So far, I am loving these amazing statement necklaces from Hyperreal. These would jazz up any boring old outfit or add the perfect party accent to your go-to LBD; in fact, they remind me of That Girl Geneva’s DIY statement necklaces (from her fab blog A Pair & A Spare) – but for those of us that lack the creativity and time to get making our own! Often statement necklaces feel like you’ve got the whole kitchen sink strung around your neck, but these are all beautifully-designed – simple but still a style stand-out.
I am also head over heels for all the super-cute earrings from Japanese brand kiku. Each pair is utterly unique and totally adorable – the quirky designs are just that little bit different from the stuff we always see on the High Street and they add a fun and colourful touch to whatever you’re wearing! You can’t help but smile when you see (and wear!) them… so I’d like to see the Rabbit, Paper Plane, Cassette and Envelope Earrings in my Christmas stocking please!
Novelty Lane also has a great selection of vintage goods – and we have to admit, online shopping does seem a much preferable option to sorting through huge piles of strange-smelling stuff in some vintage shops! This pretty lace flower necklace from Flux (above) is gorgeous, whilst Novelty Lane’s range of stylish vintage handbags is pretty fantastic too – check out the boutiques from neighbourhood vintage store Select 18 (they have some lovely jewellery too) and Seasoning, which takes parts of second-hand bags and repurposes them to make stunning new designs. Many are made from real leather and you can spot the odd gem too… yes, we did see Proenza Schouler and Alexander McQueen clutches on there!
Sassy discount: What’s more, prices are really reasonably – most of the jewellery costs between $100-200, with leather handbags available for around $500. Shipping is free within Hong Kong… and if you’re not already tempted, we have managed to snag you a special Sassy discount too! Simply enter the code 10SASSY at checkout to get 10% off your entire order (excluding the Zhoezzy and Jim Collection brands) until 31 January 2012.
We’ve only really covered the tip of the iceberg; there are over twenty fab brands available at www.NoveltyLane.com, so you’re bound to find something for your nearest and dearest… and a sneaky little something for yourself too! Armed with our special Sassy discount, what are you waiting for?!
