Sense of Touch had kindly offered Sassy a trial of its newest import: a Green Apple Signature Facial using Juice Beauty products, an organic brand that has been garnering some press attention for its strict adherence to USDA standards for organic food and products. The beauty of Juice Beauty is that it uses organic juice, rather than plain old water, as its base. Scientifically, this means more antioxidants than you can shake a stick at (did I mention I read History at university?). On a frivolous note it meant that the products smelt rather delicious too. They had the tangy smell of freshly harvested green apples. Although my therapist was able to convince me not to lick the serum she was applying on my face, I admit to being sorely tempted on more than one occasion.
Now on to the facial: after an initial assessment (dry patches, a little tired looking) my therapist applied a serum, cream and mask, although in my deeply meditative state it was hard to determine the exact order. Extractions are optional so if your skin needs nothing more than some TLC, skip this step. I love firm massages, and her talented hands were able to smooth away my frown and coax a little glow back to my cheeks. Despite my sensitive skin I did not experience any stinging sensations at all; I left thoroughly refreshed from the experience and with an eye on the Juice Beauty range, also sold at the spa. Not only had I banished the blues, the treatment left me looking considerably well rested. The fact that the products were entirely organic and natural only added to the experience – this isn’t just for eco warriors.
The Organic Green Apple Signature Facial Treatment costs HKD790/60mins. This treatment is currently only available in Arbuthnot Road and will be introduced in the Repulse Bay spa this June. For reservations, visit: http://www.senseoftouch.com.hk/
