Ghosts, ghouls and showing up to the office like this. That’s right, October’s all about Halloween. If that’s not your thing, there’s also a few wine tastings, art shows, festivals and gigs worth checking out. The holiday season has well and truly started!

Asia Contemporary Art Show
The Asia Contemporary Art Show is back in town and it’s bigger and better than ever! Browse and buy works from some of Asia’s up and coming artists as well as more established names such as Andy Warhol, Jose Molina and more.

Sick Of It All
Heavy metal heavyweights Sick Of It All perform live in the 852 this month. HK’s is the last stop on the New York rockers’ Asia tour, so you know this will be one awesome show as they end it with a bang!

Al Murray the Pub Landlord: One Man, One Guvnor
Awright, mate… the greatest comedian from the greatest country (in his own words) hits the stage in HK to perform this month. Brit comedian Al Murray rocks up with his act as the Pub Landlord. This is definitely one to watch if you love stand-up comedy!

Death Certificate
I’m a bit of a closet metal head, so I’m definitely interested in checking out the bands Children of Bodom, Carcass, Gyze and Evocation. Get involved in all the headbanging and of course the good ol’ moshpit (at your own risk!) at this intense concert.

Kedington Annual Wine Fair

Love Pings

Improv Wars: The Farce Awakens

Wild West x Beertopia
If you’re a beer lover, get yourself down to Central Harbourfront for a Wild West-themed festival. Hong Kong Markets Organisation is teaming up with Beertopia this time round. The Pink Gatsby Party

Hong Kong Classic
Classic car buff? Check out Hong Kong Classic, a vintage festival celebrating the classic car and all things automotive. With entertainment, food, activities and shopping… this two-day outdoor festival is definitely one for all the petrol heads! There’s also a picnic from Invisible Kitchen available for a truly delish experience.

Punchline Comedy
It’s time for some laughs at HK’s much-loved Punchline Comedy, which is back at Tamarind. Comedian Marcus Brigstocke from the UK performs his stand-up routine for the HK audience. He’s a regular at many of the comedy festivals across the UK and is regularly seen across panel shows… catch the funny man in action!

Secret Island Party
It’s back for the fifth year running! Hushup Events presents Secret Island Party, which promises to make all your magical dreams come true. The theme this year is Folklore, Fables and Fairytales. Marco Polo German Bierfest
October is also synonymous with Germany’s famed Oktoberfest. Head to Marco Polo hotel in Kowloon and get stuck in with a pint or three and some sauerkraut against the backdrop of Victoria Harbour. Music from The Notenhoblers, a seven-piece band from Germany will add a festive touch to your evening!

The Haywood Sisters
Head to Grappa’s for the debut of The Haywood Sisters. This all-girl harmony group from the UK will sing their hearts out for you, performing hits of sister groups from past to present. Think jazz, swing, motown and pop… go girls!

Cream Tours

Mrs Pound’s Disco Drag
Halloween’s come round quickly this year and another party to check out is the ‘Disco Drag’ at Mrs. Pound in Sheung Wan.  Go heavy on the make-up, Sassy Girls, and put on a flapper dress to fit in and celebrate the resto’s one year anniversary in style!

Turtle In the Hat
Another one for ridiculous Halloween parties! Butcher’s Club’s is hosting a ball like no other with Turtle in the Hat. WILDKATS from Barcelona will be headlining, as well as the awesome 10-piece reggae ska band, The Red Stripes. Magicians, acrobats and plenty of entertainment awaits! There’s a free spit-roast on the roof all night as well as two hours free flow on everything. Enjoy!

Get your zombie costume on and make like The Walking Dead. Grappa’s is hosting a celebrity cemetery-themed Halloween bash. Featuring international DJs The Pop Fugitives and prizes for best costume, it’s time to get your scary Britney Spears on (anyone got a snake and fake abs to lend me?). All proceeds go to the Cambodian Children’s Fund.

Hong Kong Cleanup Challenge
It’s super important we look after the environment in HK – the harbour is notoriously polluted and the beaches could use a bit of a clean.
