Christmas 2018: The Best Seasonal Sandwiches and Burgers in Hong Kong

1 / 6

Marks and Spencer

M&S can do no wrong is our eyes, and its Turkey Feast sandwich will certainly make lunchtimes all the merrier this Christmas season. Priced at $59, this sarnie is filled to the brim with roast British turkey breast with pork, sage and onion stuffing, cranberry sauce, smoked British bacon, mayonnaise and fried onions. And to make it even better, 5% of proceeds from each sandwich sold will be donated to Shelter.

Sassy tip: If you’re a lover of pigs in blankets (sausages wrapped in bacon – what’s not to love!?), then look out for the Turkey and Pigs in Blanket Sandwich ($59), which also comes with cranberry sauce and spinach on soft sage and onion bread.

Pret

Along with M&S, Pret has got to be another of our favourites for a grab and go lunch, wherever we are in the city. Its must-try this season is the Pret Christmas Feast ($26 for a half size), which is stuffed with generous amounts of sage and onion stuffing, turkey, cranberry sauce, mayo and crispy onions. This seasonal favourite certainly doesn’t scrimp on flavour or fillings!

Sassy tip: If you’re after a veggie option, make sure to try out Pret’s Brie and Cranberry sandwich ($26 for a half size). Full of slices of creamy and mild brie, paired with sweet and tangy cranberry sauce, this sandwich also features spinach and pine nuts for added freshness and a little texture.

R&R Bagels

We love R&R Bagels for a treat at anytime. Whether it’s breakfast, brunch, lunch (or even dinner paired with a cocktail), its creative and tasty inventions are always well-received, but its Christmas Bagel ($95) has got to be our favourite. Available right up until December 31st, this seasonal special includes turkey, bacon, blue cheese, cream cheese, gravy, cranberry sauce and plenty of stuffing, all sandwiched between your choice of bagel.

Beef & Liberty

The classic cheeseburger just got a seasonal upgrade. After being hugely popular last year, Beef & Liberty has bought back its Sweet Baby Cheesus burger ($138). Perfect for those who don’t love turkey (but are still after an indulgent festive treat) this beef patty is fully loaded with caramelised onions, melted brie, melted stilton, house pickles, and sweet cranberry sauce.

Morty's

We can’t get enough of Morty’s for its New York deli-style sandwiches (check out us tackling its epic Reuben challenge here!), so we’re sure its Christmas offering will be just as good. Consisting of smoked turkey, rocket, caramelized onion, turkey mayo (yes, that’s a thing) and cranberry sauce on ciabatta bread, we’re drooling just thinking about it. Hurry though, this seasonal sarnie if only available through December.

Knead

Rounding up our list of seasonal sandwiches this year, is the Christmas Sandwich ($70) from Knead (which is available at both the Sheung Wan and Quarry Bay locations). Expect to feast on turkey, roast pumpkin, cranberry sauce and crispy sage layered between Turkish bread. And if you want to ditch the bread to be a little healthier, you can also ask for the festive fillings in a salad bowl.
