Club Monaco’s Fall/Winter 2012 Collection – we style our fave looks!

29 October, 2012

The temps are starting to take a dip (finally!) and it is time to start pulling out that winter wardrobe! But instead of just pairing the same old black leggings with the same old chunky sweater, why don’t you try some new styles out this season? We decided to pair up with Club Monaco to show how you can give your cold weather look a boost! Take notes, ladies, because this is the new winter hotness!

CASUAL COOL

First up is for those days when you just can’t be bothered to dress up… but you don’t want people to know! Instead of throwing on those beat-up jeans and a sweatshirt, how about trading them in for these floral printed cords and this leather sleeved checkerboard sweater?

These pieces boast all the same comforts of your old duds but with a very cool look! The mixing of prints can be very easily accomplished as long as you keep the colours in the same tonal family. Here we also mix up the scale of the prints by pairing the small floral details with the big boxes on the jumper. Top it off with a knit cap and chunky sparkly necklace and you are ready to run your errands in style!

Paolina sweater $1790, Sonica Botanic skinny cords $1290, Gloria hat $590

COMFY & COSY

Our next look takes those lace shorts that you were wearing all spring and summer and throws them over some thick black tights instead!

A general fashion rule is when going short on the bottom you need to cover up on top.  This is especially true when transitioning this look to fall, as you will need to keep the warmth in somehow! Over the silky printed button-up shirt, we added another printed piece – this time a 70s style knit jumper to add more texture and warmth. On top of that we threw on the blanket coat in a larger plaid print. The mix of prints and textures is right on trend and will keep our model, Hana, comfy and cosy while out on the town!

Stella blanket coat $3590, Topaz shirt $1390, Jessica sweater $1490, Diaz lace shorts $1490

EVERYDAY GLAM

Next up is a look perfect for drinks with the girls! We paired a loose silky tunic dress with some metallic waxed jeans; the shape of this dress is flattering for nearly every shape! When paired with a beaded clutch and some stunning Erickson Beamon for Club Monaco earrings, you have a look that will get you noticed for all the right reasons!

Katarina dress $2790, skinny gold waxed pants $1390, Lucy beaded clutch $1390

PUTTING ON THE GLITZ

Have a holiday party on the horizon? Then go all out, my dear! This incredible beaded skirt starts our glam look, but with something this fun and loud, it is best to keep the other pieces rather safe.

We added a navy satin button-down with a studded collar (which mimics the skirt but on the smallest scale), then put the most gorgeous bronze knit Chanel-ish jacket (let’s all agree Chanel-ish is a word) on top. Personally, I am in love with this piece and plan on adding it to my wardrobe! The zipper closer adds a cool biker contrast to an otherwise mature shape.

Because of the OTT-ness of the skirt, we kept the accessories simple with only a chunky cocktail ring… but I couldn’t resist having a little fun and complementing the look with this bedazzled fringy clutch.  After all, the holidays do allow a little bit extra glitz than usual!

Monica bronze jacket $2790, Kiera all-door skirt $2790, Harley shirt with gold studded collar $1490

FOR ALL YOU MAGPIES…

While you are at Club Monaco shopping for all these stunning outfits, be sure to pick up a piece (or three !) of their incredible Erickson Beamon for Club Monaco jewellery. During the shoot we were trying on the pieces and silently wishing… okay… verbally wishing, that it was all ours! Prices start from $1290 for the earrings and rings, going up to almost $3k for the larger necklaces. You can see their gorgeous pieces used in almost the looks we styled – honestly, these glitzy jewels go equally well with a plain t-shirt as they do an evening gown!

All of the items featured here are in store now… so what are you waiting for?!
