Lack the time, inclination… or indeed, oven to cook your own Christmas dinner? Never fear, you’ve definitely come to the right place to enjoy a festive feast out on the town!

If you’re used to entire cities shutting down from Christmas Eve onwards… think again! It’s business as usual here in HK – except with added tinsel – so we’ve rounded up the biggest and best Christmas Dinners (plus a few wildcard choices) from some of our favourite Hong Kong restaurants. We’ve covered all cuisines, all locations and all styles so now, there’s nothing left to do except tuck in!

TRADITIONAL
For those that think Christmas isn’t Christmas without a roast involved – here are the places dishing up all the best turkeys with all the trimmings (even Brussels sprouts) and a big old Christmas pudding at the end!

Alfie’s by Kee

Blue Butcher

What: Go crazy for turkey at Blue Butcher, where they will be offering the best free range turkey along with their usual incredible selection of meats. Also, don’t miss out on their special holiday drinks, including their Gingerbread cocktail and Tradervic eggnog to get you feeling very merry!

The Globe

What: Expect a hearty home-cooked Christmas meal at ever-popular British pub The Globe – whether you’re in for the Christmas Lunch or Dinner menu (mmm… roast turkey and chestnut and black garlic soup!), there’s few mince pies and Christmas crackers for everyone! With December 14 and Christmas Day itself already fully booked, with other dates filling up fast, make sure you get your bookings in ASAP.

Dot Cod

What: One of the few places in town serving sustainable seafood and organic produce, Dot Cod Seafood and Oyster Bar is offering a variety of Christmas sets for the seafood and meat lover – with options including an entire Maine lobster, roast turkey with bacon-wrapped chipolatas… plus a Christmas pudding too!
When: 24-31 December
How much: Set lunches $428-528 per person; Christmas Eve, Day and New Year set dinners $728-1080 per person

St George, Hullett House

What: Hullett House’s St George has 6-course menus featuring fatty tuna, roast turkey with black truffle potatoes and Brussels sprouts, a French farmed cheese platter and ‘Les Desserts de Noel’ that are sure to get you all giddy for the holidays!

Jimmy’s Kitchen

What: Come enjoy a 4-course Christmas Eve and Day Menu at one of the oldest restaurants in HK, with dishes including pan-fried duck foie gras with caramelized apple, grilled sea scallops with black pudding, roast turkey or honey glazed ham with ALL the trimmings (including Jimmy’s special stuffing!) and Christmas Pudding flambéed at the table.

The Pawn

The Peak Lookout

What: Perennial HK fave The Peak Lookout will be offering a 4-course Christmas lunch and dinner set complete with scrumptious mains of New York Steak, maple glazed salmon fillet and of course, roast turkey and all the trimmings. 208 Duecento Otto

What: Come celebrate the 12 Days of Christmas at 208, with 12 different offers and promotions over 12 days (including giveaways, complimentary drinks and much more)! Menu-wise, they are doing a Christmas Brunch including a mouth-watering Christmas meatloaf with a huge dollop of garlic honey aioli, as well as a 3-course Christmas Dinner Menu (including black cod ceviche, double cooked rib-eye and grilled porcini) for you to gorge over! If you’re looking to host a private party, dial in for their 5-course Festive Party Set menu too.

What: Feel like a bit of spice and lemongrass on Christmas day? Then stop by for a Thai-Thai Christmas meal at Ayuthaiya, whose 4-course meal includes a sampler of Thai street food classics, appetizing soups and sweet coconut desserts. It’ll be like a Thai getaway holiday over Christmas!

Brickhouse

What: Gather some friends to enjoy Brickhouse’s Holiday Specials for a fun Mexican holiday meal (hey, who says tequila isn’t festive?!) – start with the “drink of the gods”, Horchata Cocktail, and snack on the Turkey Mole Taco to get in the Christmas spirit.

Chicha

What: To get yourself into the Peruvian spirit of things, head on to Chicha. The food here may not be your idea of a typical Christmas feast, but it’s going to make you just as happy! Stuff yourself first with the trio of ceviche, then treat yourself with “oh-my-cod” skewers, yummy tacos and syrup-drenched donuts for a Christmas meal that’s going to knock your socks off!
When: Chicha is sticking true to its normal menu, so any time!

Doppio Zero

What: For an Italian Christmas, be sure to try Doppio Zero’s Feast of Seven Fish – a seven course feast of the finest seafood prepared in a variety of ways! Standouts from the menu include the risotto with crispy squid, squid ink and mozzarella, as well as the lobster ravioli with burrata cheese.

The Drawing Room

What: For impeccable service and an incredible fine-dining experience, book a spot at The Drawing Room’s Christmas Eve and Day Dinners! Dishes include cauliflower soup with langoustine, duck ragout and foie gras tagliolini and mandarin soufflé with homemade vanilla ice cream.

What: Celebrate a Nordic Christmas at FINDS with its Christmas menu – you won’t stop snacking on the Christmas Tasting Platter of foie gras, duck paté and salmon pastrami… but remember to save room for the Festive Nordic Dessert Platter of luxurious desserts – yes, the rumours are true, it includes eggnog ice-cream!

L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon

What: For a special Christmas meal with a special someone, why not indulge at Robuchon? Expect the finest and best food here – their 8-course menu is sure to delight your palette with dishes like the seared Hokkaido scallop with caviar and fregula pasta, braised wild deer, black truffle and foie gras and the crunchy white chocolate snowball with pear declination… and for the even more decadent amongst you, try the 10-course menu instead!

Shiro

What: Fancy celebrating the holidays with some Japanese cuisine? Shiro is bringing its signature dishes out for their 4-course Christmas menu, including spinach with self grated sesame sauce, giant sweet prawn, yellow tai land tuna sashimi and much more!

St Betty

What: For fine dining done with in an unstuffy atmosphere courtesy of lovely Michelin-starred chef Shane Osbourn, head to St Betty. Their 5-course tasting lunch and dinners include pumpkin with black truffle and parmesan veloute, venison carpaccio, slow-braised Wagyu oyster blade steak and spice poached pears with ginger ice cream!

CHRISTMAS WITH A VIEW
We might not have much hope of a white Christmas here in HK… so let’s concentrate on what we’re great at instead – amazing food served alongside a phenomenal view (and even better with all the Christmas lights)!

Aqua

What: Check out the A-MA-ZING view from high up in TST and indulge in Aqua’s 5 or 6-course Italian/Japanese menu, which includes grilled taraba king crab and homemade ravioli filled with orange duck confit, tossed in a foie gras and butter sauce (can it get any better?!).

Al Molo & BLT Steak

Both are doing festive buffets for the occasion – Al Molo’s featuring a selection of antipasti and cured meats, whilst BLT’s boasts a Raw Bar with Washington state oysters, king crab legs and steak tartar… and both have lots of delish desserts too (hello egg nog pate a choux puffs and panettone!).

What: Not one for slaving away in the kitchen over a turkey? Then celebrate the holiday season in style, overlooking Hong Kong’s amazing views from The Peak at Café Deco (time it right, and you’ll catch The Symphony Of Lights down below)! Sign up for the set meals on Christmas Eve or Day, or wake up to a spectacular Christmas or Boxing Day brunch buffet with free-flow drinks. Dishes include roast turkey or goose and all the trimmings and delicious festive desserts like a Christmas Yule log with dark chocolate mousse and raspberry sorbet.

What: For an Asian twist on Christmas, stop by Hutong for some delicious and spicy Chinese cuisine, all set against the breath-taking harbour view! What: Enjoy a 4-course Christmas set menu at Wooloomooloo – the view here is awesome (one of the best kept secrets Island-side we reckon… well, until now!). We can’t wait to try the deep fried coconut tiger prawn, or Aussie favourites such as the baked Tasmanian salmon or grilled lamb rack (and don’t worry… there’s turkey and Christmas pudding too) – and make sure you get a few drinks on the Rooftop Lounge to soak up those views.

THE HOTELS
For luxury, amazing service and completely-Christmassed up décor, you can’t beat Hong Kong’s hotels! They are especially extra-accommodating towards children (how Santa fits in so many hotel appearances on his hectic present-delivering schedule, we’re not sure!), so these are great choices for any festive family outings.

Four Seasons

What: For a fantastic Chinese feast on Christmas Eve or Day, be sure to save a table at the Four Season’s Lung King Heen for a 8-course dinner including a yummy baked chicken puff with black truffle and lobster, or have a sample of everything with Lung King Heen’s Appetizer Combination. And don’t forget Michelin-starred Caprice for a stylish French fine dining Christmas celebration too!
