For the past year I have been all about the large statement pieces. When thinking of what to wear I typically go to my jewellery drawer first and then work my outfit around the necklace, bracelet or ring I was most drawn to that day. Lately though I have been finding myself more content with keeping things simple and I am now totally on a delicate gold kick.
I think it may have to do with some sort of emotional connection I have with a gold star necklace I have been wearing for the past few months. This summer when I was home in the US my mom and I had such a fun time going through her old jewellery. She was thrilled that someone else wanted to adopt some of her favourite pieces and I am loving the fact that her necklace from at least 35 years ago looks current in 2010 when layered with my Helen Ficalora “M” initial charm necklace. I do feel kind of bad for all of my other fabulous pieces but for now I think I am happy to “go steady” with simple gold pieces and tell my sparkly bib necklaces that we are currently “on a break”.
Anyway, the real point of this post is that I am simply loving this By Boe Sweetheart Ring which is available at Gizzy and Nacho. I love the simplicity of it and it totally looks like something a young school boy with a crush would make out of string. At $292HKD I even think it would make the cutest gift for a girl friend…you can get one for her and one for you too.
