Sephora Collection’s Frosted Party Advent Calendar contains makeup and skincare products, as well as accessories! This is a great affordable option, full of useful items like invisible hair rings and a pocket mirror, plus nail varnish, lip stain and even a grape eye mask. We like the variety in this one, plus the cute penguins and silvery glitter on the packaging helped sell it to us too!

L’OCCITANE’s 2019 advent calendar is another value for money option, containing 24 gifts and coming in at under $500! The beautiful, book-style packaging traces the history of almond trees in Provence from 1956 to the present day. Inside each door, you will find a small product, along with little tips about helping the planet. Expect to find its best-selling shea butter hand cream and almond shower oil, as well as treats from its verbena and cherry blossom ranges!

Available to pre-order online from 15 October or in store from 1st November for $495

Just looking at the packaging of the Kiehl’s calendar is helping to get us into the festive spirit. It looks like an inviting Christmas storybook and follows the character of “Mr. Bones” as he travels through New York (eventually ending up at Kiehl’s NYC flagship store!). It’s stuffed full of miniature sizes of customer favourites (such as its Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil) so you definitely won’t be disappointed and there’s also a bonus collectible “Mr.Bones” pin.

Available in store for $495 (after any purchase of $500, only one calendar per customer)

The ASOS Face + Body Advent Calendar has upped the game this year with its mix of products. There are full sizes of The Ordinary’s Hyaluronic Acid, as well as Dr Jart’s Ceramidin facial mask and ORIGINS super spot remover. Add to that mini sizes from brands like Laura Mercier, Clarins, Elemis and Philip Kingsley and we’re sold! Each product comes wrapped in a brightly-coloured, numbered gift box, all of which are printed with soy ink and 100% recyclable (which gets it bonus points in our book!).

We always love the offering from lookfantastic because of the range of brands included – and this year certainly doesn’t disappoint! You’ll find goodies from Elemis, Molton Brown, Caudalie and Morphe, amongst other premium brands (worth a total of $4,200). This is the fourth year lookfantastic has compiled a beauty advent calendar and it sells out every year, so don’t hesitate if you’re planning to order. We think its sleek navy and gold packaging makes it a worthy addition to your dressing table and can even be used for storage afterwards!

The Body Shop

The Body Shop has not one, but three, advent calendars on offer this Christmas, ranging in price from $599 to $1,499. The one that’s caught our eye is the mid-priced Dream Big Deluxe Beauty Advent Calendar. It’s filled with the brand’s iconic goodies, including sheet masks, bath bombs, body butters and hand creams (as well as some limited editions). We love that the calendars are designed to empower and uplift women and girls, with some of the shop’s December proceeds going to Plan International (a children’s charity that aims to advance rights and equality for girls across the globe!). So not only will you look and smell good, but you’re also contributing to a good cause!

Available in store from 24th October for $799

We’ve made no secret of the fact that we’re huge Rituals fans here at Sassy, so it’s no surprise that we love its Deluxe Beauty Advent Calendar. The 3D display itself could even serve in place of an actual Christmas tree if you’re short on space in your HK flat. And the calendar features four mini advent candles, to be lit each Sunday in the lead-up to Christmas. Other goodies include mini sizes of its best-selling foaming shower gel, body cream, fragrance sticks and facial oil in an assortment of its signature fragrances. There are even some items for the man in your life, so he doesn’t feel left out of all the excitement!

Available in store from 11th November for $888

Charlotte Tilbury

The 2019 advent calendar offering from Charlotte Tilbury is certainly eye-catching with its glittery pull-out drawers and metallic box. And let’s face it, as soon as the words “Charlotte Tilbury” are mentioned, you have our full, undivided attention. There are just 12 products in this calendar, compared to the others that offer 24, but you do get four full-size products (including the cult favourite Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk), so we reckon it’s pretty good value. And the travel sizes are packed full of crowd pleasers too, including Charlotte’s Magic Cream and Goddess Skin Clay Mask. Don’t mind if we do!

ESPA’s Precious Moments Advent Calendar may be at the pricier end of the spectrum, but what else would you expect from such a luxe brand. Lurking behind the doors you’ll find its Smooth and Firm Body Butter, and its Optimal Skin Pro Cleanser (amongst other popular picks). Our eagle eyes also spotted a Winter Spice Candle and its amazing 24h Replenishing Eye Moisturiser. This is full of top-to-toe treats that are great for preparing for the party season, plus for the recovery afterwards!

Available online from lookfantastic for $1,319.50

The 25 Days of Beauty Advent Calendar from NET-A-PORTER is a serious splurge option. But we think if you have the funds to spare, the calibre of goodies does somewhat justify the price tag. Every item has been handpicked by the brand’s team of beauty buyers and even includes some full-size options (like Lixirskin’s amazing Vitamin C paste, which has become a bathroom staple for this Team Sassy member). Hidden behind each drawer you’ll also find products from top makes like Charlotte Tilbury, Dr. Barbara Sturm, Hourglass, Marc Jacobs and Sunday Riley. We can but dream…
