Sassy’s Top Picks For The Central City Wine Walk

Think you know all the hotspots in Central? Think again! Let the Central City Wine Walk inspire you to try something new on your next date night or lunch break. Here are our Sassy recommendations.

There’s just a few days left to make the most of this year’s Wine & Dine Festival! Have you bought your tasting pass? We’ve scoured the streets of Central (a difficult task indeed!) to try out the best dishes, cocktails and wines on offer at the Central City Wine Walk, and this is what we found…

Sassy Pick 1 – Café Claudel

Take a seat overlooking the courtyard at Tai Kwun and you could almost be people-watching on the streets of Paris rather than in the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong. The cooler weather is perfect for this alfresco spot, especially with a glass of Mulled Wine in hand! Pair it with a Classic Croque or Truffle Fries, or opt in for the full French experience with a serving of the Escargot.

• Mulled Wine and Truffle Fries are 1 token each. Classic Croque and Escargot are 2 tokens each.

Sassy Pick 2 – Sake Central

For a date night with a difference, use your tokens at Sake Central. The atmosphere at this PMQ hotspot is excellent, and with a huge range of sakes to pair with your Japanese dishes, you’re sure to find something you like.

• Must order dish – Shrimp Tartare –  3 tokens.

Sassy Pick 3 – Treehouse

For something a bit more casual – maybe a workday lunch – take a visit to Treehouse. It dishes up fresh and healthy, plant-based meals in its eco-friendly kitchen. The unprocessed menu features burgers, flatbreads, salads and sides.

• Fried Cauliflower with homemade pickle is 1 token. Forest Burger is 2 tokens and the Long Poppy Flatbread combo is 3 tokens.

Sassy Pick 4 – 121 BC

This Sassy tried and tested Italian spot is definitely worth a visit. Hidden in the heart of Central, this wine bar and restaurant serves up sophisticated modern Italian cuisine. A must-order is the Grilled Octopus, and wash it down with a glass of Ginger Felix – a refreshing gin-based cocktail.

Sassy Pick 5 – Tell Camillia

Top your Wine Walk off with a visit to Tell Camillia for its tea-based cocktails. This small bar brings you unique blends of flavours, many of which have been distilled onsite. We’ve got our eye on the Oolong Iced Tea but also can’t go past the signature T-Tonic – Italian Almonds and Truffle.

• Oolong Iced Tea is  1 token and the Italian Almonds and Truffle is  2 tokens.
