6 Fun and Flirty Basics for Summer

Even though we’ve still got the Spring rains to get through, our thoughts are starting to turn to our Summer wardrobes! We’ve picked out our favourite fun basics for Summer that you’ll wear over and over again…

1. J Crew’s Erez Glitter Sandal – could this be the perfect summer shoe for schlepping ’round town? We think so – totally love the combination of classic toffee leather and the glittery toe. Perfect with bare legs and just about any outfit we can imagine!

2. Lace Hem Shorts from Topshop – Great for the all-white look that’s always great in the heat – we’d team these with a little tank and some wedges, or a breton-striped tee and plimsolls for a junk day out…

3. J Brand 811 Fuschia Skinny Jeans – Last year it was their Houlihan’s, this year J Brand have done it again with their brightly coloured skinny jeans and created the trouser of the moment. Snap them up quickly wherever you find them (Net-a-Porter) is a good bet as they’re a sell-out everywhere.

4. T by Alexander Wang Classic Muscle T-Shirt – You’ll wear a superfine jersey tee with EVERYTHING this season – look for the lightest fabric you can for tucking into everything, or layer on top of colourful bandeaus if it’s really too sheer for a nude bra.

5. Turnback Grandad Shirt – A loose cotton shirt is another great summer basic for slinging on top of a bikini as a cover-up, with shorts, or even tucked into a maxi skirt.

6. Colourful bags are so hot right now, and this has to be the ultimate – the mini-Alexa from Mulberry (named after style icon Alexa Chung) in Watermelon is so versatile that as long as you can edit all the crap you normally tote around (and at Sassy we are the queens of carrying tons of crap around!), you’ll be all set for Summer…
