What’s on this weekend…

Don’t let the typhoon keep you down ladies! As per usual, there’s plenty happening in the 852 if you can muster stepping out of the house and away from Netflix. Whether you’re up for a spot of dancing in the rain at GRANA’s Block Party or keen to check an inspirational art exhibit in the spirit of Pink season, we’ve got the pick of the best below.

Spreading Kindness

Spread the love this weekend, ladies, and give back to those in need! Impakt HK brings us Kindness Mats, a project aimed to help the homeless while simultaneously reducing plastic waste. Double yes! They’re calling for all volunteers to assist in collecting plastic bags from around the city and creating cosy cushions for the homeless. Calling all you girls with that needlework knowledge – crocheting experience is not required, but is a plus! What better way to get out, help a neighbour and make some new friends along the way.

When: Saturday, 22 October, 10am-3.30pm
Where: DreamLikeBubbles, 7/F, 36 Belcher’s Street, Kennedy Town, Hong Kong
How much: No cost! Gather up as many used plastic bags as possible, drop them at a donation point and join the movement.

Rain, rain go away…

Typhoon Haima is looming, and we’re bracing ourselves for one stormy weekend! Slip on your sturdiest wet-weather shoes and brave the winds because there are still heaps of events happening, despite the downpour. But if you don’t fancy your chances, a day indoors doesn’t sound so bad either! Stock up on snacks and get baking, or suck it up and clear out your wardrobe ready for the new season’s trends (better late than never, right?). Coax the girls that live near by over to yours with the promise of wine, or bring the bar home with these DIY fall-inspired cocktails. Alternatively, brew a fresh cup of tea, snuggle up in your cosiest pyjamas and wait for the whole thing to blow over…

Stay safe and dry, girls!
