WEEKENDER: The best NYE parties in Hong Kong… with some ticket giveaways too!

It’s the one night that everyone wants to have fun on – New Year’s Eve! No plans yet? Don’t worry, we’ve found some of the coolest places and hottest parties in town to celebrate the start of 2014… plus, don’t forget to check out our New Year’s Guide to Hong Kong for even more inspiration!

The One on the Rooftop
If you’re looking for a place to dance, party, drink and be merry, then RED at IFC is the place to be on New Year’s! With an alfresco venue that looks out onto our amazing harbour, this is the perfect place to ring in 2014 in style and watch the fireworks spark! Either go all out and enjoy a fabulous six-course dinner for $688 per person (or $788 with two standard drinks to boot!) or head on over after 10pm in preparation for some countdown partying, sponsored by Absolut Vodka and G.H. Mumm Champagne! With an indoor dance-floorflowing vodka and tequila ice luges, this night is guaranteed to deliver some NYE fun (…possibly a little too much – some tickets include ten standard drinks!).

When: 31 December, dinner 6pm onwards, party 10pm onwards

How much: Dinner $688, or $788 including two standard drinks (plus 10% service charge). The One with all the Champagne
The crème de la crème of New Year’s parties is back! The folks at The Edge have chosen the hottest place in town, Duddell’s, as their venue for this year’s Champagne Resolutions bash… which means (you guessed it!) lots of champagne will be popping! This event has truly got it all – we’re talking a champagne reception from 10-11pm, followed by a premium free-flow open bar from 10pm-2am at the themed terrace and lounge, burlesque dancers, a photo-boothlive performanceslate night snacksgreat DJs and everything else you can imagine! Don’t miss out on this party if you want the full New Year’s Eve experience.

The One with the Japanese Twist
New Year’s Eve is the perfect time to splash out on a night to remember! If you’re willing to go all out, then why not head to one of Hong Kong’s swankiest bars, Aqua Spirit, for a top class 360 degree view of the glittering skyline and a free-flow open bar (that includes glasses of Veuve Clicquot Champagne, prosecco and sake… wow!). Their New Year’s Eve party, Omisoka, promises some Japanese celebrations packed with decadent drinksJapanese and Italian nibbles and the full countdown experience alongside DJ Eye (hot off the plane from Tokyo). Go hard or go home!

The One with the Fireworks View
Why not bring in the New Year at one of Dining Concepts’ amazing restaurants? Al Molo & BLT Steak are both having jam-packed celebrations that include an indoor and outdoor marquee, an amazing waterfront view of the fireworks and the classic countdown… all with an 80s theme! You’ve got the option to go all the way and splash out on an all-you-can-eat gala buffet and open bar, or keep it simple and just join for the countdown and drinks. Either way, you’re sure to be feeling very merry as you sit under the sparkly fireworks.

When: 31 December (special countdown and open bar starts at 11pm)

The One with the Hot New Bar
One of our fave tapas restaurants, 22 Ships, has changed its ‘no reservations’ policy for one night only this NYE – so now’s your chance to actually get a booking in! Ring in 2014 with some sangria and spice as you feast on a sumptuous four-course meal (full veggie option also available). When you’ve had your fill head over to their brand new sister venue Ham & Sherry across the road for the After Party! This is the perfect opportunity to check out this hot new venue (and sample some of their signature sherries, of course) – just get your booking in fast as places are limited!

When: 31 December (After Party at Ham & Sherry starts at 9pm)
Where: 22 Ships, 22 Ship Street and Ham & Sherry, 1-7 Ship Street, Wan Chai, Hong Kong
